Birthday party? too much?

I hope this doesn't get to detailed!! ha! Ok here goes. My cousin has a daughter that is exactly 11 months and 3 weeks younger than my son. Ok in english her birthday is exactly a week before my sons. We are a tight knit family with a lot of birthdays in the summer. Deal is I am having a swim party for my son at a friends house, while I am so very grateful for this her pool (in ground) is smaller than normal. no diving board (it broke) and no slide. My son will be 5. I was greatly disappointed when my cousin told me she decided to have a swim party for her daughter the week before of course. You see we are inviting the same people to the same party 2 weekends in a row. I don't know should I be stressing over this? I am thinking some of them will come to her daughters party and not come to my sons. I am also concerned with the number of bigger kids that will be there. Should I just invite the smaller kids? How do I tell my family that their older children shoudn't come? ? ?

Birthday party? too much?
you should make both on the same day
Reply:you should talk to your cousin about all of this and you don't need to leave no one out. especially the bigger kids or they will start beating up your son.
Reply:ok i feel your pain on this one believe me. My cousin and i got pregnant around the same time twice and so birthdays get kinda weird.

Anyways the birthday is about your child having fun. If he is having fun that will be all that matters. At 5 as long as he has a couple of close friends to play with that is all he will probably care about so don't stress so much about it. Yes some may feel that they don't want to go swimming two weeks in a row but as hot as it is around here people have been swimming pretty much every day. With the older kids you take a chance of not having people show up if you say the older kids can't come. Some parents don't feel right taking one kid to a party and not all of them so that might cause conflict. Just focus on the basics and what would make your son have fun and enjoy the birthday party the most
Reply:Be grateful to have the kids be able to have access to a pool 2 weeks in a row! I dont have a pool and dont know anyone with a pool - and the best thing I have is a garden hose!

Anyway - invite everyone you'd invite normally - but do provide some other games and activities for the older kids or the younger kids when they arent in the pool.
Reply:It was when my kids turned 5 that it was a friends only party. If you don't want to offend anyone however, I'd have a pool party for just his friends that are his age. Then have a potluck Bar-B-Q for a family party.

Good luck!
Reply:I would have it on the same day..since ya'll are so close knit and all. Invite all the kids! that is very rude to not invite all the other children just because they are older! For God Sakes that's your family! (guess your not so close knit after all) The older kids can watch out for the younger ones too...at least that's how it works in my family. As for your cousin it does sound a little fishy..her having the same kind of party every year as your son's...my advise don't tell her what's going on next year...just tell her oh..I'm not for sure yet..then at the last minute send out invite's to everyone.
Reply:Next time just make sure that you don't mention to anyone what you are planning for your son. I hate people who can't think of something by themselves, they have to copy someone. I can understand how you feel. I do feel though that a baby only 12 months old having a pool party??? That just sounds silly. She'd be better off doing something else.
Reply:Remember that this is not a popularity contest. Last time I cheked, no kid is going to pass up an excuse to go to the pool two weeks in a row.

Depending on the age difference, I would say something like 'I think your 12 year old may be bored with a bunch of 5 year olds so they do not have to come if they do not want to'

And your friend is letting you use the pool. Are you really complaining about the pool?
Reply:That does seem kind of rude, although your cousin may not have realized it when she planned it.

Is there any way you could have your party somewhere with more space? Like, a public pool or a lake nearby? I have no idea how much that would cost, but it seems to me the best way to solve a lot of your problems.
Reply:Here's my best attempt at answering this question.

Dilema 1: having a similar birthday one week apart

solution: for this year, combine your swim party with a water games party where you organize water balloons, squirt guns, and pool games (i.e. - marco polo, volleyball, or diving for those sticks for points). If you switch up the types of water the kids are playing in/with they might have more fun at your party.

Dilemma 2: your plans are stolen from your less-than-creative cousin

solution: Either decide to combine both parties next year so you both can throw one BIG bash and work on it together OR next year plan a "mystery" party where you tell the guests what to bring in the invitation, but don't give away your party plans until everyone shows up. This way you can keep your good ideas with yourself and won't have to worry about your cousin stealing your plans or getting angry at you for snobbishly telling her to get her own ideas

Dilemma 3: mixed age group

solution: As long as there are other 12 year olds for the 12 year old to play with than it won't be a bad party. The more the merrier holds true - that's why it's a party. Leaving ppl out will make it more likely that the entire clan won't show up. Do your best to plan games/activities based on a mixed age group. I just checked out some fun sites online to find ideas for games that all ages could play. There are really a lot of things out there. Namely, a treasure hunt, water balloon toss, or water relays (with even distribution of ages). Good luck!

Haloween party.?

A man and his wife were invited to a swanky masked Halloween Party. The wife got a terrible headache and told her husband to go to the party alone. He, being a devoted husband, protested, but she argued and said she was going to take some aspirin and go to bed, and there was no need of his good time being spoiled by not going. So he took his costume and away he went.

The wife, after sleeping soundly for one hour, awakened without pain, and as it was still early, she decided to go to the party after all. In as much as her husband did not know what her costume was, she thought she would have some fun by watching her husband to see how he acted when she was not with him.

She joined the party and soon spotted her husband cavorting around on the dance floor, dancing with every nice girl he could, and copping a little feel here and a little kiss there. His wife moved on up to him and being a rather seductive woman herself, he left his partner high and dry and devoted his time to the new stuff that had just arrived.

She let him go as far as he wished; naturally, since he was her husband. Finally he whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed, so off they went to one of the cars and had a little romp.

Just before unmasking at midnight, she slipped away and went home and put the costume away and got into bed, wondering what kind of explanation he would make for his behavior. She was sitting up reading when he came in and asked what kind of a time he had.

He said, "Oh, the same old thing. You know I never have a good time when you're not there."

Then she asked, "Did you dance much?"

He replied, "I'll tell you, I never even danced one dance. When I got there, I met Pete, Bill Brown and some other guys, so we went into the den and played poker all evening. But I'll tell you... the guy I loaned my costume to sure had a real good time!"

Haloween party.?
i know i have heard third for years and i love it every time

thanks for the laughter
Reply:The Halloween party I went to this year was mad boaring.
Reply:that was not up to the mark

i have heart it before
Reply:hahaha
Reply:this joke has been posted at yahoo answers only a week ago ... only last time, he loaned his costume to his wife's brother .... never made me laugh ...

if you want a low key party with not too many people i would suggest going out to you favourite restaurant with some friends then maybe go to a movie or a play or go shopping. or you could take some of the girls out for a day of pampering go to a spa, get your nails done, etc. you will feel like a princess. hope you have fun whatever you choose to do!
Reply:You should go camping. Have a big bon fire and roast hotdogs and marshmallows. You can listen to music and stay up all night talking and having fun.

Reply:For my birthday, I chose a couple of friends and we went to an amusement park for a day. Then we all went back to my house for pizza, movies, and a sleepover. It was really fun. Plus, I don't know where you live in Florida, but if you're near DisneyWorld or Universal Studios, maybe you could get a park hopper and go there.
Reply:How about a star party? You can have a campfire and roast s'mores and howl at the moon. Bring some guitars or song books and have a blast!
Reply:i cannot imagine what one should do for a teen's birthday party. god help you. it sounds terribly confusing and frightening.
Reply:Paintball. It's so much fun and such an adrenaline rush.

Murder party and other party ideas?
I think you have too many people for a murder mystery party. What about bowling? Or you could rent an empty space, hire a DJ, and have a dance type thing.
Reply:Murder Mystery is fun! I went to one that didn't work out though because the people who wrote the scripts had glaring errors, and it didn't make any sense in the end.

So jsut get a good script, and have fun! :-)

Hosting a party?

When hosting a Christmas party, do you think it's ok to ask everyone to sign up to bring something, like an appetizer or a bottle of wine, or is that tacky? Should the host of a holiday party always pay for the expense of the party and guests?

Would it be any different if you were hosting a bday party at your house for a friend? Would it be appropriate to ask all the guests to bring something to the party in honor of the friend?

Hosting a party?
Are you having a party, or are you providing a venue for a party? And if you're providing a location for a party, why are you doing so?

Have a party, or don't have a party. If I have to fix my own food %26amp; bring my own wine, I'll stay home.

Hosting means "to have guests." Take it or leave it.

I am happy to go to someone's party %26amp; be served deviled eggs, ramen noodles %26amp; Budweiser. If I make the effort to walk the dog, phone the mother, check the bookbags etc etc so that I can get to a party on time, I'll be g-d if I want to haul along food %26amp; wine.
Reply:A Pot-Luck is perfectly appropriate for a holiday get-together.

Just be sure to be clear on your invites!

"Please provide your own beverages (mixers will be provided!) and a favorite dish to share"

Expect to purchase crackers, chips, mixers, (pop, tonic, club soda, and ice) have a variety of wine glasses and other glasses on hand. A couple trays of muchies are nice, but it depends on what type of party you are having.
Reply:yes but u have to suply most of the things.
Reply:its not bad to ask them to bring something, its courtesy to being invited, its like saying thanks! people actually enjoy that, they all get to try what people brought! then you know who has the good stuff and to go to their parties! ;)
Reply:Mrs WC here and I love pot luck dinners!!

If you state in your invitation that it's a pot luck dinner, then no, it's not tacky. It keeps the hosting couple from having to spend a lot of money at this time of year and gives others the chance to show off their culinary skills. However, as the hostess, you should be responsible for the drinks. If you want wine, then you should provide it. Otherwise, tea, sodas, juice and coffee is good.

Now, for a birthday party, it depends on how good the friends are and how many you are inviting. Birthday dinners can be simple, yet elegant. Lasagna, salad, and garlic bread are great for that and not overly expensive.
Reply:i think it would be better to do like if you last name begins with A-M then bring an appetizer and if you last names begins with N-Z then bring a dessert, etc.
Reply:You can have a Holiday Potluck. Invite people to a Potluck and if they are offended by it they wont come. Some people will call and ask what they can bring - have those people bring different types of food so you have everything covered. Be sure to have some low budget items for people you know can't afford to contribute much - like can you bring 2 dozen rolls? You need to be sure to have enough beverages - unless you get people to volunteer to bring them.
Reply:um a lot of parties dont ask but the guest always bring something or its rude; even if its ice....... thats what my 6th grade teacher taught me lol
Reply:of course not!

send a evite out and ask people to bring trays or whatever they can bring, and if you cant no problem!

Thats what I always do, it should not be a problem...

to do a itemized list, email each person what you would like them to bring and see if it is okay with them.

Good luck! Happy Holidays!
Reply:Well I understand pot luck parties to be bring a dish. If I had to sign up for my dish I'd think that'd be kinda strange but... maybe call it a pot luck and see what kinda food shows up.
Reply:yeahh its not tacky. it helps the host out alot. i say go for it
Reply:You could say it's a pot luck Christmas party. Everyone can bring a festive dish or drink.
Reply:It is a little different when hosting a party for a friend. It's like you are all throwing the party for that person and not for each other. A Christmas party is a little more formal usually and you as the host are offering your home and whatever else up to your guests to enjoy. If you are having people close to you come to the Christmas party it isn't as big a deal to ask them to bring things. Good friends are usually willing to offer what help they can. You could preface the party as a pot-luck and then it's implied that everyone will bring something although I've never been to a Christmas potluck. Often people will bring a hostess gift to the party and that is usually a bottle of wine or flowers or something. You can't be sure what people will bring but you have options.
Reply:they should be fine bringing there part
Reply:Just call the party a potluck or a pitch-in. Don't stress about what people are going to bring, just let them bring what they like. If you end up with all dessert, then everyone will be eating desserts, big deal.

If you expect people to bring food, I think it is appropriate to specify no gifts. I have a friend who once had a party that was a housewarming/ graduation party (typically gift giving occasions) AND specified BYOB %26amp; F. It was ridiculous!

Should I have a Christmas Party?

Me and my best friend talked about me hosting a Christmas party at my home. I let most of my friends know about it and the date we were planning for. Dec. 15th. Anyway, one of the girls (Jane) who knew I was having my party has invited most of my friends to another Christmas party on Dec. 16th. At this point, I'm afraid most people are going to go to Jane's party because she is our boss at work. I'm worried that most people won't be up for 2 partys in a row, and will diss my party on Friday night to go to hers on Saturday night. Should I continue to have the party? I have ordered numerous party trays and plan on buying a lot of alcohol. Do you think it would be a waste? Is this a bad idea? Or should I just carry on like normal and hope everyone just continues to come as planned? I don't want to waste money on stuff if I don't have to. Any ideas on what to do are greatly appreciated.

Should I have a Christmas Party?
Have your party as planned. Most leftovers can be saved/frozen and will most likely to be used over the holiday season. PARTY ON!!!
Reply:yes you can still have because who doesnt love 2 parties in a row just dont buy too many things
Reply:Go ahead and have it. People love to drink and party and would do it every night if there was an opportunity
Reply:I would have it anyway. Since you've already invited people, it would be kinda strange to un-invite them. I would go to both if I was invited to both. I love parties!

!Fun Party Games!?
have everyone write an embrassing moment on a peice of paper, crumble it and put them in a bowl. Have the host pull them out and read them outloud. Everyone can try to guess who it was. You can also have them put favorite food, colors, nicknames, what ever. It's pretty fun and easy!
Reply:spin the bottle ollool
Reply:i did this for my kid...how about .......pin the pimple on the preteen!!!!
Reply:play bingo with a twist give out bingo cards and on the back have every one write something their parents slipped up and said on the back.(keep it clean never obscene) take the cards up shuffle them then pass them back out. every time someones number comes up they say what's on the back of their card. believe me it will get some laughs. i did this for my sons birthday party he caught me with "let the dog out d@$%%26amp;!"
Reply:first of all, OMGSH! my bday party is on saturday too!

Anyway..

This website will help you make a custom list of party games:

http://www.partygamecentral.com/pgcstand...

Some other ideas that i've used or seen:

-Sit in a circle at night and put a lantern or flashlight in the middle of a circle. The person who will start will hold the flashlight and start telling a story. After a few sentances, maybe in the middle of a sentance, he/she will hand the flashlight to the next person and that person will have to start from there. Keep going as long as the story is interesting ( a couple of times around the circle ).

-If you or a friend has a video camrea, make a funny movie!

-Play "spud"! Outside, find an area with plenty of space to move around. The person who's "it" will hold a rubber or bouncy ball. Everybody will stand around him/her and the person who's "it" will throw the ball in the air and yell the name of a person standing around them. The person who's name was called will catch (or try to catch) the ball while everybody else will run as far away from the person who caught the ball as they can (including the "it" person). Once the person whos name was called catches the ball, they will yell "SPUD". The people running away will stop then. The person with the ball will take 3 big steps toward somebody, and try to peg them with the ball below the waist. If it hits them, that person is "it".

Good luck, hope i helped, and oh yeah, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

IM NOT CHANGING THE DATE!

waht should i do?

Oh and i dont really know how i would reason our party dates with him

My friend is ruining my party! AGAIN!?
okay doing that once is just annoying!!

doing it twice is just selfish!!!

this person is not being helpful at all!

you shouldnt have to work you party around them just because they wanna be self centered and decide that they can do whateva they want!

have a talk with them and explain that this is not what you do to your friends!!

especially when they said that it would probably be on a sunday....jeez i dunno know bout any other teenager out there but i would be furious if one of my friends tried to ruin a party of mine for the 2ND TIME!

just talk to them and explain i guess is all i can say....thats what i would do....

Birthday Party Planning!?

Okay, my 13th B-Day party's coming up, and I have convinced my mom to let me have a party, for the first time in my life(with my friends) and I want to make it perfect!!

My B-day is in the summer, the middle of June.

I love Alvin and the Chipmunks, (their music too!), and dancing, so I was thinking about having a dance party in my backyard, but what should I bring to eat, what should the theme be, what decorations should I use. Please help, this is my first birthday party that I am planning, and i'm really nervous about it.Thanks for your help!!

Birthday Party Planning!?
You've got a waaaaay to go, my friend.

Your birthday is in 4 1/2 months. But whatevs.

Rent a DVD, something that people like. Get snacks like nachos, and no one can't resist an ice-cream cake!
Reply:stay local and cheap, but Faboulous! Go to local coffee shops and restaraunts. Ask how much it would cost to rent out a small area for one night. If its around $99 itsa good deal(not including food) 2-4 weeks ahead send out invites for your friends to go to the party location, throw on some cool music and just dance and have some fun. For food have cake, pizza, and soda. Keep it simple but fun. If you have about 20 people you wont really need HUGE activities planned out, people will pretty much entertain themselves.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

P.S. asking for gifts some your friends is tuff. So if they ask just tell them giftcards to one of your favorite stores!

Joke:::Halloween Party?

A couple was invited to a swanky masked Halloween Party. The wife got a terrible headache and told her husband to go to the party alone. He, being a devoted husband, protested, but she argued and said she was going to take some aspirin and go to bed, and there was no need of his good time being spoiled by not going. So he took his costume and away he went.

The wife, after sleeping soundly for one hour, awakened without pain. As it was still early, she decided to go to the party. Since her husband did not know what her costume was, she thought she would have some fun watching him to see how he acted when she was not with him.

She joined the party and soon spotted her husband cavorting around on the dance floor, dancing with every nice woman he could, copping a little feel here and a little kiss there. His wife sidled up to him. As a rather seductive babe herself, he left his partner high and dry and devoted his time to the new stuff that had just arrived.

She let him go as far as he wished; naturally, since he was her husband. Finally he whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed, so off they went to one of the cars and had sex. Just before unmasking at midnight, she slipped away, went home, put the costume away and got into bed, wondering what kind of explanation he would make for his behavior.

She was sitting up reading when he came in and she asked how the party was.

But I'll tell you... the guy I loaned my costume to sure had a really good time!"

What Party are you voting for?

1. Green Party

2. Liberal Party

3. Conservatives Party

4. NDP

5. Bloc Québécois Party

What Party are you voting for?
I see a lot of Americans who have no idea what you're talking about answering this question.

If you mean federally I'd vote Liberal.

I would think though that if they saw a bunch of parties they did not recognize they would realize it's not Amiercan politics....
Reply:Unlike most people, I do vote for the party. I have always voted for the Republican/Conservative Party and I will always vote Republican/Conservative Party.
Reply:i dont think any of them. they all lie.and cheat the poor
Reply:In any election, I do not vote for a "party" - I vote for the best candidate regardless of party.
Reply:New Year's Eve Party
Reply:DEMOCRATE GO EDWARDS!!
Reply:Green Party for sure! Go Elizabeth May! She's so gutsy, not like the other guys that are trying to pass themselves off as leaders these days. That aside, I've read the Green Party Vision for Canada, and it is AWESOME. There are one or two things I might not agree with, but what they have to offer is way more comprehensive and more sensible than any of the blather that the other parties are coming up with.
Reply:Leah,

Why can't you realize that you are not voting for an individual, you are voting for policies. The individual is someone who supports a Party's policies or they would not be on the ticket. Primaries elections are designed to nominate someone who is more likely to enforce the Party policies. The decision should be, which policies will benefit you the most in the next four or more years. If the policies of the last administration have benefited you personally, then vote Republican. If not, vote for the policies of another party. Logically, the only other party truly available is the Democratic Party. Even if you consider the Democrats the lesser of two evils, at least help the rest of us get rid of policies that have been a disaster for most of the American people. The Presidential election should not be a popularity contest but an attempt to elect a representative of the party that best supports your interests.
Reply:You must be Canadian, given your choice #5. I'm American and couldn't vote for the Quebec Liberation Party even if I wanted to. I prefer choice #1, the Green Party. We have one in the states too, and considering the sorry bunch of losers the major parties are running this time around, I'm going Green no matter who they run. People who want to save the planet can't be all bad, you know?
Reply:you keep saying " Party " and you'll have Bill at your door step
Reply:Anything but a damn republican

:] Har har.

Birthday party?

I'm throwing a birthday party for my quadruplets a little early this year. They will be turning 3. I'm doing it early for two reasons, one I want to do it before my daughter has her baby and two because it will be a pool party and I need to do it before it gets cold. Does this sound like a good party idea? We will have it in the backyard, we have a screened in pool with a hot-tub for the older kids who can swim. Along with a slide. But for the little ones out in the yard we will have a bunch of those little blow up pools. Can anyone show me some of those things, that aren't extremely expensive. We are also going to rent a big water slide for the older kids. This party is also for 3 of my older kids. (Gabriella will turn 8, the twins will turn 7, and the quads will turn 3) But if you can show me some of those slides that would be awesome. I'm going to put out some sprinklers also, but there will be little kids there. (16-18 months) who can get in the little pools with their parent

Birthday party?
Great party!

If you are lucky, you can find the pools marked down at Wal-mart, less than $10 each. I didn't find any for sale online though...
Reply:have some munchies so they can eat and swim
Reply:It sounds fun, as long as all the kids are properly supervised. Whether you have little appropriate pools for the small kids or not, you have to assume at least a few of them will not be interested in those and instead want to go for the big pool.

With that many kids, and having other stuff going on (you being the hostess for the party, for example), you may want to enlist some babysitters, possibly with lifeguard or at least CPR skills, to help with the basics of keeping young children away from the pool and other "big kid" stuff.

Birthday Party Outfit?

My birthday is in January and im going to have a party at a local pizza place with 22 kids. What should i wear to my party?

Wear something comfortable that make you feel good.

gifts.com has a birthday sash for @17.00, and celebrateexpress.com has one for 1.99. You might check Claires or Icing for a tiara and birthday button.

Here is a great site with ideas for teen birthdays - http://www.birthdaypartyideas4kids.com/t...

Birthday party ideas?

Party ideas? My son is turning 3 June 5th. We had a big blowout party for his first, but now we have a baby who is turning 1 in August so I don't have much money to spend for 2 huge parties in a row. I would like something simple and at home ffor my son's 3rd. And a big party for my daugter's first. Any ideas? TOo young for chuck e cheeses or a gamming place ...

Birthday party ideas?
For my son's 4th birthday last year, I was a little strapped, too. I do usually have a really huge thing for him. We've done ponies, clowns, this year it's a skating rink, so I get where you're coming from! Anyway, I filled his sandbox with a bunch of little plastic dinosaurs, and gave his guests little sand diggers, and they were paleontologists! They had a blast digging them up. I also had a pinata filled with candy and the standard pin the tail on the dinosaur game. With a little tweaking, you can make it whatever your son is into. If he likes pirates, let them dig for gold doubloons, or if he's into Spongebob, how about little sea critters. Just use your imagination. Luckily at these younger ages, it is so easy to entertain them! Have fun, I know it'll be great!

As for your daughter's first, that's really more for you than her. She won't even remember it! I'd do like a fairy princess theme, at home, just invite everyone that love's her!
Reply:At the house just invite them (friends) over and maybe have like a movie party just put on one of his favorite movies I mean I know it is hard since he is only 3 but still I think he would enjoy it then maybe if you have a swingset let them go outside and play tag or anything that those cute toddlers like to do then I say serve cake!!
Reply:As a mother and grandmother, I recommend that you keep birthday parties at a minimum except for "special" ones: 1, 10, "sweet" 16 (or "drivers' license" celebration). The best part of a little kid's birthday is blowing out the candles! They'll do it as many times as you'll let them! And for heaven's sakes, limit the gifts---the more toys kids have, the more quickly they are bored and indecisive, I have noticed, whereas a kid with few toys will not only play with them but PICK THEM UP and put them away! You'll never be sorry. Kids don't love us for the stuff we give them, they love us because we are Mom and Dad unless we somehow train them to equate STUFF with love. One thing you might consider for all future birthdays is a special birthday plate and the unique right to choose the menu on his and her "special day".
Reply:do you really think a three yearl old will remember the party? Nah,me neither. Chuckie Cheeser, that's the place for a family frolic
Reply:For my son I invited some of his friends over for a pizza party. I made up the dough ahead of time. I put out some ingredients in dishes and pizza sauce. They had so much fun and used the ingredients to make faces! :0)
Reply:Someone once told me that for kids' birthdays, it's a good idea to invite as many children as the child's age. For instance, for a 3 year old, invite 3 guests - a 4 year old, 4 guests. It has really worked for us. With too many kids, everyone gets overwhelmed, especially the birthday boy!

My friend just had a "bubble party" for her three year old son. The big hit was giant bubbles. She got a baby pool and filled it with home made bubble solution and a hula hoop. The adults pulled the hula hoop up, creating a giant bubble that enveloped the child. She also had bubble blowing "contests" and a pinata. You could give little bubble bottles as favors - and could even make labels on your computer with the birthday boy's name on it or the guests' names.

My best advice is to relax and enjoy the day with your kids. Play some games and have some fun!
Reply:I know one thing you can do is make fake money for everyone and they must earn the fake money by finding it or answering questions correctly then after all the money is out you can have an action and you can get stuff from like the dollar store just one idea out there good luck
Reply:Just go to your nearest park with a playground. Have a water balloon fight and make a picnic lunch. Have races and fun outdoor games. Maybe you could bring one of those big colored parachutes and play shark! (A game where kids sit around the parachute, holding onto the handles and shaking it, and there are kids under, who are the "sharks", who take hold of the children's feet and pull them in, so then the child pulled in is a shark as well, and there are lifeguards, walking around the parachute saving people getting pulled in.)
Reply:Why not a backyard party w/ his favorite cartoon theme. everyone bring their bathing suit and jump in! BBQ some hot dogs and hamburgers, makes some kiddie bags w/candy,games. This u can get at the dollar stores. Get some mini potatoes bags to serve w/the hotdogs, hamburgers. At that age the kids don't eat much! And other outside games w/prizes also at the dollar store. Check the dollar tree store they have a big variety of things for your party for the little ones.

Birthday party 15 year old?

I need ideas for my 15th birthday party. Im not sure whether i am going to have an all guy party or a mix party. Soo i need ideas for both parties. That is maintanable budget wise and legal.

Birthday party 15 year old?
fancy dress is always an obvious but fab option! maybe a limo with your closest friends to the party to make it extra special?

or what about going to an indoor play area ... for example theres a huge childrens centre near me which also does adult parties!
Reply:ooo can i come? im 14. where do you live? o do a all guy party. its fun being the only girl!

Masquerade party?

Okay my birthday is coming up im turning 17, i didnt have a party last year but i want one this year.

how would i go about throwing a masquerade party?

if i was only inviting say 30 people would a decent sized house be enough room, im gonna use three rooms that are connected by arches and not doors.

I really have no ideas on how to go about this...all i know is that i just think it would be so cool to have a masquerade party.

oh and it will be guys and girls at the party.

Masquerade party?
Well you can tell everyone that their faces must be covered and like at midnight you could have everyone take of their masks. Create a different setting in every room and make sure you have good music and its loud.. not much else to it ;) good luck!
Reply:try to make use of different themes for each room or if you want try using different color bulbs. to separate rooms you can use cloth.. something that flows and is some what sheer. the themes would also depend on what the design of your rooms so that you can just play around your deco so that you do not have to spend too much on decoration. also you give out their masked once they enter...
Reply:Have each guest be a celebrity like Jessica Simpson, Britney, Travis Barker, etc and it can include musicians too. Just an idea.

Third party ?

i would like to know if anyone remebers what happened last time there was a strong third party caniate and who he was?

now i want you to realize that all the votes that go to the third party usally always end up taking votes away from one of the parties ussally the gop.

so why would anyone in this coming election,if hillery gets the nod, why you would take the chance of getting her in office by voting third party?

Third party ?
Because if everyone continues to always vote for one of the two, even though we hate them both, we'll never have any real choice.

Sometimes you have to vote your conscience.

What I usually do is keep an eye on the polls in my state. Since my state is usually strongly blue, I feel free to vote for a third party candidate (usually Green), as I know my state will vote Dem without me.

I just wish my state could ocassionally have SOME say during the primaries; the pick is always decided LONG before it gets to us, so we are completely disenfranchised from the nomination process.
Reply:Because Hillary is just like the Republicans so it won't matter anyway, why not vote third party.
Reply:Perot could have won if he didn't keep dropping out. He's the last legitimate third partyer though. He was even invited to join the debates.
Reply:I for one hope the Reps take the bait and launch a third party candidate. It will give the election to the Democrats.
Reply:Perot was the last legitimate third party candidate in 92' and 96'. How do you think Clinton won his two elections? Perot was doing well too until people figured out what a nut-case he was. He never had the answer to anything. It was alway the lift up the hood and take a look answer. Oh yeah and buy my book.
Reply:That would have been Perot.

Remember that if voting third party is throwing your vote away, because the other guys will win, then you might as well vote third party, because the other guys will not need your vote anyway.

Vote with your mind, vote Ron Paul.
Reply:they don't take them away the Dem's and reps loose them by not having a good policy or good candidate.
Reply:Here is what I am telling people:

Vote for any candidate you want in the primaries. If there is a 3rd party candidate in the general election. Republicans and independents should vote for the republican candidate to avoid those socialist candidates that the DNC is putting forth. Democrats, VOTE FOR THE 3RD PARTY CANDIDATE!!!!
Reply:Ross Perot.

Don't go Left or Right, Go Forward, Think Libertarian.

I could be a bumper sticker salesman.

We still have democracy, for the most part, people should vote their concience, not Hillary Light.

BEST party All NIGHT and DAY!Destination??

I would like to go on a real crazy party holiday this summer and am looking for the best one.

Ive heard Aiya Napa Cyprus and Malia in Crete.

Any other sujestions?

Oh and i have a great one for anybody interested.

The island of Pag in croatia is good fun.Its only 11 km long and 4 km wide but the lively town of Novalja is packed with party people. The party beach Zrce is the hot spot where clubs line the beach.Transportation is easy to acess as it is in the middle of the town and busses run every few minutes to and from the beach.Partys start at 16:00 and end at 7 .Nice people there too apart from the people that work there ,they are quite rude.Other wise its great fun .If you want to relax just rent a quad bike or a scooter and find a secluded beach there are plenty.I do warn there arn't many sandy beaches ..just little pebbles. And make sure you stay in the town of Novalja because the other small villages are far away from the party and unless you want to drive you won't get there.

BEST party All NIGHT and DAY!Destination??
hey, i went to crete last year, hersonissis to be exact, its a serious place to go! its mainly irish and dutch! Malia is about ten mins down the road, its a wild spot but its rough, all english! next year we going toeither ayia napa or mexico! id recommend hersoniss to you, best spot weve been! good luck to ya!

Graduation Party?

My best friends college graduation party is today. Right now, I don't have a job and I have no money. I feel really bad about going to her party empty handed. I literally have $5 for a gift. There is nothing in the world I can get her for $5 bucks. She always buys me very expensive and lavish gifts for my parties.

What do I do?

I also have nothing to wear. It's in the 90's where we live and I don't own shorts or skirts and I don't have the money to buy any new clothes either. All I have is long jeans and casual tee-shirts. This party is outside at a country club. I also don't have any friend I can borrow clothes from because we are all completely different sizes.

Graduation Party?
i know i am answering this question too late to have helped you for her party, but i do have some advice i want to give you. she is not your friend so that you will buy her gifts, and she does not care what you are wearing. i know it is hard to be broke when every one else is flush, but it gets better (eventually everyone is broke and it evens out) keep your head up girl.

Which party is for "state-rights" (wink wink) today?

The Republican Party or the Democratic Party?

I know it was the southern socially conservative wing of the Democratic Party and later the Dixiecrat Party that was or "state-rights" in the past.

Who is for "state-rights" today?

Which party is for "state-rights" (wink wink) today?
Today, neither of the major parties are for states rights.

The libertarian party is for states rights but it is not a viable party.

Edit - Just because a candidate lies about his position on states rights does not make him for states rights.
Reply:I don't know about the party but the man is..........

FRED THOMPSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:The Republican party is for states' rights.
Reply:Honestly, I never saw the appeal. Are state bureacracies less inept than federal bureacracies at anything?
Reply:The Republican party "should" be for State rights, but over the Bush-Clinton-Bush administrations have done 2 things - reduce the party choices the people have to 2, and then blurr the lines of those 2 parties.

The only Real Republican, endorsed by Real Republicans is Ron Paul.

The only candidate whose stand is being endorsed by the candidates themselves, is Ron Paul.

Thompson agrees with him in most issues except Ron Paul wants peace and not war.

Romney agrees with him on immigration.

Obama agrees with him on bringing troops home and Foreigh affairs. (Obama, is no dummy and he sits on the Foreign Affairs Committee)

They have ALL agreed with him in some form over returning to the Constitution.

Halloween Party for an 11 yr old?

Hey all. My kid brother wants to have a halloween party at my house this year. He is 11 and is staying with me while our mom takes care of a sick friend out of state....

Anyway, he wanted to have a halloween party with some of his friends, but I need some suggestions. Such as:

-Should it be geared towards more scary stuff or not?

-Cheap decorating ideas?

-Should it be ON Halloween or maybe the weekend before?

-How do I keep the kdis entertained (games, movies?)

-What kind of food do I serve?

-How long should the party last?

-How many kids to invite?

I really have no idea how to throw a kids party, but think this would be fun...Any help is greatly appreciated...Thanks all!

Halloween Party for an 11 yr old?
i did this a few years ago...it cost about $100!

pizza is easy, inexpensive, and can be easily made to be "scary" (just put a fake eyeball or two on it before the kids see it!)

decoration is easily done cheap. lots of fake cob webs and black streamers. maybe a huge cauldron with dry ice at the bottom and another bowl on top full of both candy and gross slimy stuff (these are boys after all, getting dirty is ok).

have the party an hour before trick-or-treating and then have them all meet back at your place afterwards for pizza and scary movie (and of course have a friend of yours scare the crap out of the kids when the scariest part of the movie comes up).

you can also have a costume contest (the kind where everyone wins) and the prizes could be fake blood and stuff like that. everyone likes to win stuff, even if it's worth 15 cents!

if you're the only adult, i'd say 10 kids....but i would get a friend or two to help (especially for the scaring them part!)

i'd say with showing up, costume contest, trick-or-treating and movie the party should last about 6 hours.
Reply:Check out this site for an idea that's pretty cool. A cupcake decorating party. Or you can just have it be part of the party:

Some neat designs for cupcakes and cookies there too.

You dont want 15. 8 or 10 at the MOST!

i have a 21 and 22 year daughters and 10 yr old daughter and 8 yr old son. yeppers

when my older daughters have things for their kid siblings , they tell me their HANDS ARE FULL!!! LOL! "How do you do it, Momma? You are SUCH a good Mom for always puttin up with us, wow"

I dont know how old you are, but you know your brother and his friends, dont bite off more than you can chew!

The suggestions are pretty kewl, but kids arent really into board games these days. They love the outdoors, bikes, etc, if you have access to that, you could send them on a scavenger hunt!!! THATS alot of fun!!! Most neigbors will have: a bottlecap, an old shoelace, etc.....divide them into two groups, and send them off , give them 20 minutes.... whoever retrieves the most WINS. Give them say a bag of bubble gum, etc.

Remember, throwing a party takes a lot of organizing! Plan ahead! have fun and good luck! Your brother is a lucky boy! as is my two little munchkins! :)
Reply:Well, don;t get the kids too spoiled, because that would lead to a tragedy. But also, don't look like you're going hard on them. try to get some appropriate scary things, like maybe cobwebs, or funny things, like a skeleton finding it's head. Don't lean much on the bloody picture's side, because it ruins them when they get older.

You can go search things in your attic, basement, etc.

Kids mostly want to go trick-or-treating on Halloween, so I suggest the weekend before it. My recommendation is to start the party at night, because the daytime looks kind of boring on a Halloween night.

You should get the kids to have some board games, like maybe Monopoly, or Scrabble. Video games can be good, but too much can lead to addiction.

You can ask what the kids want, or even takeout food. Homemade food has been known to be better in parties.

Not to spoil the fun, but the party can last until half an hour after their curfews. They think it's a bummer to leave that early, but also cheers them up that they've been up at least a little bit longer.

You can invite how much you can handle, but choose a little less than that, because accidents, like spilling liquids and maybe someone falls down the stairs, God forbid, can slow you down to another child who need help.
Reply:I think having it ON Halloween would keep them from trick-or-treating, so maybe you should have it another night, they may not come if they have to choose between the two. I think "light scary" is okay, but the girls might be more into cute things, so don't overdo it. You can decorate with plain pumpkins, and cheap stuff from Party City. Play some good creepy music or find a radio station playing it for you, and you could serve orange cupcakes and orange juice and 7-Up punch or something. I'd have the party end by 9:30 or so, you could invite like, 15 kids or something... not too many for you to handle. Remember, they're eleven, not five, they can mostly take care of themselves now, but they still need you to take AWAY the candy after 9:00! You could play musical chairs with scary music (I actually think this game gets funner the older you get).
Reply:i think there should be prizes lots of scary things good food maybe some pizza i think thats what elleven year old like oh and especially music but not some halloween music some hip hop pop thats would be xcoool
Reply:ok IT NEEDS TO BE SCARY most kids this age like sacry and plus there booys. Weekend before halloween everyone will be trick or treaating on halloween food any junk food and CANSY duh party best would e a sleepover but at least 7 to6 hours 10 AT LEAST for best 20 also boys start likin girls but if he does invite girls cant be a sleepoveer

Pool Party Ideas?
What are you doing for food? You could do something a bit different, like chocolate fondue with a bunch of different things to dip in the chocolate, like pretzels, cookies, marshmallows, fruit, etc. Lots of ideas at http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/choc...

Or if you are having pizza or some other type of simple food, you could see if your mom would make up some chocolate candy pizzas. They are usually a big hit. The recipe is here at http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/choc...

Has anyone ever tried bobbing for apples in a pool? Just a thought...
Reply:Great music is always cool and what my cousin did at his pool party at the beginging of the month was he put metal bucket like things on all the tabls and in floats in the pool and put ice in the buckets with soda, so as people were in the pool they coul dgrad a soda with out getting out. Prefereably clear soda incase someone drops it! My cousin also had squirt guns too. Plus afterwords they had a swimming contest and the winner gota 15$ gift certificate and they did a bunch of little things like that too! Like best dive and furthest jump! Organized activities work well!!!
Reply:LIMBO!!! lol :-D

They have all kinds of party stuff that is not very expensive. If you don't want to buy anything, at least look for the ideas!
Reply:girls and guys? play chicken
Reply:I KNOW THIS ONE! If it's a boy-girl party, all you need is what you need, a place to dance, and lots of food. Remeber that a lot of girls wont swim as much as th eboys, so have some places where they can hang out and chat. They'll find entertainment.

Mini Birthday Party for friend?

On Saturday, it's my friends birthday. She's only been a main member of our group at school, as she just started High school this year. But she's been a great friend and quickly made it to one of my best friends. So, my other friends and I are having a small party for her tommorow at school.

So far, what we have planned/have done is order a pizza to be delivered, gotten cupcakes, candy, balloons, tiara for her, birthday hats for us,party favors, soda, and an announcement for her and her friends names that are invited to our party for her be spoken overthe loud speaker. We're just having it in front of the school, and have gotten permission from our teachers for poppers, horns, confetti, and going off campus for a few minutes.

Can you think of anything else? Her last seven parties have ended in disaster, so we're trying to make this one good. Her actual party is not until the 26th to go see Saw IV, but we want to do something now. What do you think?

Mini Birthday Party for friend?
I think it's a great idea. I'm jealous!

You are a very good party planner.
Reply:That sounds like a really great idea. In addition to all the fanfare, you should make her a personalized car and have everyone sign it with something nice about her.

i am somewhat of a girly girl(cheerleader, not a tomboy but i play softball too) but i wanted to have a paint ball party. my mom thinks that's too dangerous. so we were thinking about laser tag or just something else that is fun interesting and original.

My party (URGENT)?

Hi im 11 turning 12 in mid september. I need my party invites out early september and its nearing mid august. I'm allowed five ppl if i want a sleepover, and i guess up to 8 if i want a normal party (no sleepover). Im definatly inviting my best friends, A, B, C, D and E but im not sure if I want to have them for a sleepover and then tell my other friends that im not having a party. I like all my other friends and all but I am really not sure what I want - a sleepover with my best friends (A, B and C know each other really well cause we are all primary scholl best friends and they dont know D and E well. D and E are my new school best friends) or a day party with all my friends (besties %26amp; new school friends)

what would you do if you were in my shoes?

My party (URGENT)?
Clearly you have 2 choices. Have the day party with all of your friends or have the sleepover with your best friends.

If it was my party, I think I'd rather have the sleepover - you can always explain to your other friends that your parents only let you invite 5 people and you had to choose the people you know the longest...

Why won't your parents allow 3 extra kids to spend the night since it is your birthday? Try cutting some kind of deal with them.

One more idea - would your parents let you invite the other 3 over the following weekend?
Reply:Push the envelope ... ask for the day party .... then see if you can get a two friend sleepover the following weekend !.......

You'll never know if ya don't try !
Reply:well personally i like to have a sleep over with my best friends my b-day is in Sept to and i am having the same problem but I'm doing something like yours but if you don't invite everyone don't brag about it to the other guys well have fun at your party◊
Reply:I would first check with my parents to get their okay. Then have a party with all of my friends. The next weekend or whatever, I'd have a sleepover with my besties =]. I've done it before when I couldn't make a decision!
Reply:Best friends are more fun, plus you can hang out with them longer. SLEEPOVER! I'm 16 and 5 ppl over for a sleepover sounds really fun!
Reply:i think you should just do a big party because it can be just as fun as a sleepover. just have the girls go home a little later (9 or 10 maybe), and you can still have a ton of fun. plus, you can get to know the girls that you maybe aren't so close with a lot better. It would be good to get to know different people a little better, and you and ALL of your friends will be a closer group.

Have fun!

Boy/girl dance party... HELP!?

i am planning my 13th birthday party and i want to throw an awesome boy/girl dance party. i am thinking of hiring a DJ and putting out tons of finger foods and video games and board games. here's where i gets complicated and awkward for me: I GO TO AN ALL-GIRL SCHOOL. even at my old school i wasn't very cool with the guys. so i was thinking of letting my invites bring their own guys. i am basically the straight-A shy geek at school. my crowd doesn't really throw parties where they play spin the bottle let alone dance! but my personality at home is soooo different. so if i just invite my friends, not only will they not dance but the party will be boring. why not just have them over for a sleepover. should i invite the whole grade of 80 girls? plus, my parents are cool and they'll step out of the way. they'll even let us grind and "freak" and stuff that the girls do at school dances. i am just not the type of girl who throws parties. so if my party ROCKS, it wil boost my popularity!

Boy/girl dance party... HELP!?
i say no bored games and no video games ppl aren't gonna play or the guys will just play the video games and not talk to you at all and its YOUR PARTY!

i say invite like 10-15 girls and let them bring their own guys as long as you know who they are b4 hand no crazy or bad ppl at your party at is gonna try to mess anything up cuz its your night not theirs if you have any older cousins or ppl like maybe ask them to come and bring a guy friend or 2 if your worried about popularity...sounds to me like your tryin to have a SUPER SWEET 13 party like on MTV...just do w/e is gonna make you have fun its your night...i would def do the DJ thing tho i always wanted to have a party w/ a DJ when i was younger but never happened

but trust me the shy geek isn't aways gonna be the shy geek at school

Costume party......?

A couple was invited to a swanky masked Halloween Party.

She got a terrible headache and told her husband to go to the party alone. He being a devoted husband, protested, but she argued and said she was going to take some aspirin and go to bed, and there was no need of his good time being spoiled by not going. So he took his costume and away he went.

The wife, after sleeping soundly for one hour, awakened without pain and as it was still early, she decided to go the party.

In as much as her husband did not know what her costume was, she thought she would have some fun by watching her husband to see how he acted when she was not with him.

She joined the party and soon spotted her husband cavorting around on the dance floor, dancing with every nice chick he could, and copping a little feel here and a little kiss there. His wife sidled up to him and being a rather seductive babe herself, he left his partner high and dry and devoted his time to the new stuff that had just arrived.

She let him go as far as he wished; naturally, since he was her husband.

Finally, he whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed, so off they went to one of the cars and had a little bang.

He replied, I'll tell you, I never even danced one dance. When I got there, I met Pete, Bill Brown and some other guys, so we went into the den and played poker all evening. But you're not going to believe what happened to the guy I loaned my costume to......."

Costume party......?

Wedding party and baby shower in the same year?

Okay, my husband and I have been together for five years and we have a four year old daughter. We decided to get married this month and went to the courthouse. Both of our mothers are planning a party since we got married. Basically everyone that would have been invited to a wedding. A big party planned for April. Anyway, I am 7 weeks pregnant and due in October. I really want to have another baby shower because it has been so long since I had our other child that I do not have anything! I told both mothers that maybe we should not have the party because it is just too much work, and they were insistant. Do you think it is too much to have a wedding party and a 2nd baby shower in the same year???

Wedding party and baby shower in the same year?
Two parties to celebrate two incredible events! I think people will be excited to share in these occasions with you and your family.
Reply:Its too much to ever have a second baby shower unless a different family structure is involved or you clearly specify no gifts.

Because you either gave away or sold the last gift I gave you, does not qualify you to request another gift from me. I of course may choose to bring you one, but showers make that mandatory. And your reasoning here, verifies thats your goal.
Reply:If your wedding party is in april and the baby shower is not likely till august/september at least then I don't see the problem. They are two separate things.

The baby shower will most likely be a womens only affair with your girlfriends and family so won't impact the wedding party at all. you don't even have to mention to anyone that you are having a shower until the invites are sent out and by then the wedding party will be long over. If you're still worried then have a lowkey shower and don't outright ask for large items. Just be happy with whatever people bring for your baby.

Its totally okay to do both especially since there will be nearly 5 years between the kids. I'm having a second shower and its only been 3 years but its more of a morning 'high tea' thing. Just something classy and fun for me and my girlfriends to do. The baby is just the excuse to do it!
Reply:So many women have babies in the first year of marriage I don't see any great problem.
Reply:usually the people i know do not have wedding showers if they have already set up house (live together) however it is acceptable to have a baby shower for a second child that is so far away from the first child. that being said i would celebrate the marriage, but ask that people do not bring gifts. then when the baby shower rolls around you will not feel so bad recieving gifts. which it seems like would be more useful since you already live with your husband and likely already have the house stuff under control. just some thoughts
Reply:no not at all, the same month maybe a little much only b/c no one wil have enough money to spnd what the would like on you. but the same year, celebrate you deserve it. I only wish I had a second babyshower. ALot of people have a baby shower and a wedding party for just tierselves in one year and a birthday party. enjoy the attention and have fun, like i said you deserve it.
Reply:I see no big deal. In fact, your family may be more than pleased to celebrate both events with you!
Reply:I'm getting married this March 22nd and having a baby shower in may or june of this year! I dont think its a big deal at all! Congrats!!!!
Reply:well, I would go with the wedding party. and if you just had a baby shower a littler over 4 years ago I don't think that you should expect another one. I could see if you youngest was over the age of 7 years than yes.

But if you wanted to have a wedding/ baby I think that would be better than 2 showers/ partys in one year.

I is just my thoughts on it. Good luck!!!!!
Reply:if that is what they want to do--let them--you could explain that you would rather have baby shower since you do not have things for baby now--but if their heart is set on a wedding shower ask them to combine the two and tell people that you want gifts\money for the coming birth instead---sounds like they are really happy you two decided to get married--big congratulations on everything
Reply:My step daughter gpt married last April and had her baby last September and it was fine to have the showers in one year. They are both such happy times you need to share them with your friends and family.

Good LUck and congrats on both
Reply:NOT AT ALL! In 2006, I had my son on July 25th and then Oct 7th I had a big wedding, church, reception.. the whole bit. I think that it won't be a burden to have both parties.
Reply:It is not unusual in 2008 to have the baby and then the wedding showers. I just went to a baby shower in Oct. and the wedding is in Aug. Granted that seems like another year but Oct. 07 to Aug. 07 is only 10 months. No problem. Just go for it and be happy. This is a different world we live in.

However, not always are there showers for 2nd babies. People who are close to you usually buy a gift for the new baby anyway.

Good luck to you and your husband and kiddies.
