Birthday Party Ideas (7 year old)? Party is at home and will host boys & girls aged 5-to-10??

OK, my daughter is in the 2nd grade and about to turn seven. Kids at the party will be between 5-10 and I want everyone to have fun. I've already planned on making personal pizzas (kids get to make their own), kidz bop, Cake, and Wii. What else can I do to ensure everyone has fun (adults included) and is time managed? The party is in the afternoon and the hosting house is loaded with tools, I just need creative ideas.

Any thoughts? Cool game and gift (party bag type) ideas are what I really need help with.

The best advice will get the 10 points, of course, and thanks for your response.

Birthday Party Ideas (7 year old)? Party is at home and will host boys %26amp; girls aged 5-to-10??
Rather then doing a party bag with a bunch of stuff that will end up in the trash opt to buy each child one small gift like a stuffed animal or bracelet that they can keep. Also having games where they can win a prize would be fun.

Because it is co-ed and the different ages of kids you will probably have many activities going on at once.

You could have a game theme and have different games (twister, checkers, memory, mouse trap, ect.) set up throughout the house. To keep with the theme the prizes and gifts could be games as well.

Christmas party?

I think I'm going to go with a fire %26amp; ice party theme for this years Christmas party. Any ideas for how I could decorate or for the invitations? OR can you think of a better theme for the party? By the way money is not much of an issue so the bigger and more outrageous the better. The party is going to be for teens/college students so no drinking because everyone will be underage.

Your help is greatly appreciated! :) Thanks

Christmas party?
just a thought, invitations could be a roaring fireplace with ice stockings melting on hearth. if outdoors, have a nice fire pit, serving hot apple cider, hot chocolate, and slushie machine! if you have access to a fireplace, marshmellows %26amp; sticks, smores, could be fun too. you have a really unique idea. I may borrow sometime! have fun, whatever you do. Merry Christmas - Gramma H

Do a charles dickens christmas party.

GIVE prizes 4 the best out fits.

ROASt chest nuts on a open fire.

HAVE Scrooge show up.
Reply:Well, lots and lots of lighted candles will certainly give you the fire element. If you can either make some ice sculptures yourself or get someone to make them for you you can get the ice element. Since it's a Christmas party, try getting some "Christmas" scented candles. A balsam fir scent would remind folks of a Christmas tree and wreath. Yankee Candle has some really nice Christmas scents. Balsam Fir, Home for the Holidays, Christmas Cookies, Gingerbread, Frankincense, Christmas Wreath, etc. You can undoubtedly find some great Christmas scents from other candle companies as well. Or if you're not worried about the scents, just get some red, green, gold, and silver candles. For ice sculptures, think things like a tree, an angel, Santa, baby Jesus, ect.

During negotiation, one party is very rigid even they are wrong while the other party don't know what to do ?

So what make that right party to win the wrong party in a peaceful negotiation? party A knows that they are not really right, but they try to find justification and argument to support their sides and those reasons they raise are somehow sort of so reasonable that party B really don't know what to do and get stuck finally although party B is not the wrongdoer. Please help with idea.

During negotiation, one party is very rigid even they are wrong while the other party don't know what to do ?
I find that if we are talking about someone with an ulterior motive to win at all costs I t does not make any difference if they are right or wrong.

some individuals cheat.

I have seen someone with a wrong idea win because they beat their opponent up physically.

We must wait for that type to become extinct.

That will be soon. Your particular problem is not set forth with enough information to give solid advice on.

A judge or a lawyer, or even a couselor would need more information. I just look that type of person in the eye and say nothing. They usually know what that means and they just go away.
Reply:On the basis that Party B is probably the only one that thinks that Party A is wrong, and clearly Party A believes it is right, I would suggest that Party A is going to be the winner.

But without a whole lot more information it is impossible to give a more definitive answer
Reply:shoot the bastards
Reply:Sort out the pros and the cons of the case and then try to reason on your strong points. If this fails get another party to judge. this is why we have courts because each side thinks they are right and so a decision has to be made either by a judge or a jury. If the matter isn't a legal one ask the other party if you can have non biased people to sort it out for you.
Reply:Well party B has the obligation to out debate party A.

If party B cannot, then party A is right.

I don't mind being wrong, provided someone can prove me wrong. If they can't...then I consider myself right. It's my job to prove it to another, and their job to prove it to me.

Unless of course, there is NO right or wrong, or it is trival or an emotional issue, then.... just let it go. Let them win this one!
Reply:This not a matter of party A being wrong and knowing it, it is just a matter of whats in their mind. The bible said "the mind is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it" you think that they are wrong? but if you go inside their mind you will be suprised to know that they strongly believe that they wrong thing which they did is the wright thing to do. Every body knows that sucide bombing is wrong, but people who do or instigate people to do it, strongly believe that it is wright.
Reply:Round them up, put them in a field and bomb the b*******s.

So says Kenny Everett!
Reply:get party c to bash thier heads together until they both see sense
Reply:just get the other side to explain their argument and once they have done so tell them that it is a weak argument and that you are not willing to change your mind. Be competitive on your strong points and be collaborative on your weak points. Use your judgement and make sure you prepare beforehand!

By the way is this biskit? Its just I recognise that avatar from your msn, unless it is a common one!

Surprise Party Help?!?

I am having a surprise 25th anniversary party for my parents. The only problem is that it is on my birthday. My mom is very tradtional in making sure my party is at our home every year. I need some ideas for how to get my parents to the party. I don't know what to tell them. The party is at my aunt's home.

Surprise Party Help?!?
Be like, aunt _________ really wanted to celebrate this special time with us at her house. Can you please give her a chance? Its your special day, you shouldnt be working hard in the kitchen, you should be sharing a special relaxing meal with aunt ____. That always works..

Happy Birthday
Reply:I think Beauty_Queen has a great idea. You could tell your parents that your aunt wants to have you all over to her house for dessert after you have your birthday dinner at your house. Tell them that your aunt got you a special gift for you birthday that she couldnt mail or bring over to your house, so you have to go pick it up. You could also have your aunt call and talk your mom into coming over for whatever reason. Hope you have a great birthday! :)
Reply:How about inviting ur parents for a party/ get together at ur aunt's place? May be try to invite some good old family friends. Also u behave in a way that u totally forget that its ur parents 25th anniversary %26amp; spread the words to others. Let ur parents just come to ur 'aunt's' party as a guest! Make them host once they enter the house.

well I have done it few years b4 %26amp; it's AMAZING !Good Luck

"Fun Party"?

Have any of you women heard of a "Fun Party"? I've heard that it is like a Tupperware party for women only, but instead of Tupperware, the sales rep is showing sexual play toys for purchase. They also have fun games to play. I am going to my first Fun Party tomorrow night with some friends. I was hoping to find a website about the party and a sneak peak at some of the products they offer. It would help give me a heads up for what to expect. I can't seem to find anything about them online. Any help or information would be appreciated. I myself haven’t owned a toy since college. My husband's work keeps him out of town every other week and I figured what the heck.

"Fun Party"?
Yep, they're fun.. google it!
Reply:just google fun party and it will come up.all the toys ect...you may want to buy they are really fun i have been to a lot of them.usually we have a stripper at the end but you can keep it simple and have just as much fun
Reply:I've never been to one but I have heard about it, they just show you random products and the ones you like you buy ^_^
Reply:lots of sex toys and women? tell me where this fun party is. it sounds fun indeed!
Reply:I've also heard them called "surprise parties"

They are SO fun.
Reply:You're going to have a great time... assuming the consultant is educated and entertaining! They ARE like a tupperware party, but WAY more fun! I am a distributor for Just For Fun Parties, so if you're wanting a sneak peak of what might be in-store you can go to my website at www.justforfunparties.com/Lisa. There are several companies out there, so the products will vary ... but at least it will give you an idea of what's to come. There's alot more than toys... but of couse, that's the funnest and funniest part! :) Have fun!!!
Reply:yeah i've heard them. they called it a passion party though. i've never been to one, but it sounds like it would be a "fun party"
Reply:My sister in law throws those parties occasionally but I've never been in town to go to one. (Lives 3 hours away from me) From what she said they sell all sorts of toys, lingerie, and other sex goodies. Not sure if they play games or not, though I think I remember her saying something about she always has food and drinks.
Reply:Hurm..sounds fun..

Birthday party ideas for boyfriends 21st?

It's my boyfriends 21st birthday at the end of july and he's asked his mother, me and two of his close friends to organise a party for him. We live in Aberdeen, Scotland so the party will have to be held there. The party is just going to be for his friends who are all of the similar ages and interests. We're looking for a DJ who specialises in Rock/Alternative music. What we're stuck on is things to do during the party, like activities or games. Any suggestions?

Birthday party ideas for boyfriends 21st?
Why not have a fancy dress theme?
Reply:to be honest, if he's asking you and his mother to organise it i think you should be having a quiet night in! just leave it up to his mates. i'm sure they will come up with something appropriate.

if you don't like that idea then maybe you could have a bit of a knees up with the family. then he could hit the town with the lads another night.
Reply:Well drinking and debauchery are the usual pastimes. You could hire a stripper for him, or if you want to economize do the work yourself.
Reply:just book a place with a bar or a book a hall and get a pub to do a bar for you
Reply:Go-karting...it's a blast.
Reply:Naked + Beer = FUN!

Bachelorette Party?

My friend is getting married and I am in her wedding. So far, her Matron of Honor has been doing a pretty bad job...the bride's mom had to call me and ask for me to do some things since the Matron of Honor isn't. Anyways....The matron of honor emailed me and asked for the bachelorette party if the wedding party would like to get a room at a local Casino. I said SURE! Then, she emails me saying she wants to put the bride in bride to be things and play games! then put us all in matching bachelorette party tshirts. Ok its cute but come on!!! what ever happened to going out and just having a fun time w/ your girlfriends?! I think this is so lame maybe b/c im a little older than the other people in the wedding party and my bachelorette was simple. i wouldn''t usually think the bride would be into this kind of thing either. I am now a little reluctant about going but since im in the wedding i feel obligated. should i say something or ask the bride?

Bachelorette Party?
I think that you should ask the bride what she wants and if she is not into that idea then you should tell the other girl that I don't think that the bride would like this and I understand you are trying to make it cute but let's just get together and have a good time together, but if the bride likes it then go for it!! Support your friend!
Reply:It's fun for the bride to be dressed up in stuff for the attention and she gets a ton of free drinks. I wore a nice tiara that said Bachelorette. they have sashes also that are tasteful. I wasn't much into the games. but we had fun things like penis straws to drink out of. I would just let it lose for a night it's about the bride and just making sure she has fun.
Reply:See if you can draw hints from the bride.

Games can be cute, if you do them right. Try making up a game where everyone can enjoy themselves. Casino is a good place to start. Have a scavenger hunt. Get polariods camera or digital, group the girls, give each a copy. Think of creative and funny things to put on the list eg like jumping in the pool (if any) with clothes on, taking a picture of a guy in his under wear and bringing the underwear back as proof, have elderly mam kissing one of the girls. Going to bar and taking a shot. Think of things that be funny, crazy and wild. This way everyone will have a kick out of it.

Good luck!!!!
Reply:just say in simple wards

i love you
Reply:That's how most of them are....it's not that bad. It can be fun, and the bride will enjoy the attention she gets. It's all done in good spirits and most of the people you run into while you're out will respect the bride and just add to the fun. It's the only time you CAN go out and be dressed so ridiculous! Just go with it and have a good time!
Reply:I think you should just go with the flow. People do that all time, and its a cute idea! The bride will be appreciative of whatever kink of party you throw for her, and she will love the attention she will get as the "bride to be".

Just roll with it, and have fun with it.
Reply:Unfortunately most bachelorette parties are like that these days. I went to one for a 20 year old and one for a 35 year old. They were both like that. Warn the bride, see what she wants and fill in the MOH.
Reply:I would totally check with the bride, give her a little heads up. If she doesn't like it, you can still change it around now. Otherwise, she might get stuck with a bachelorette party she doesn't particularly care for.

Mardi Gras or Vegas.
Reply:Hollywood. Either dress up like your all going to the Oscars, or dress up like your fav or less fav famous person.

The Oscars one will be a little dated for your party though i think it is a good idea. Red-carpet, awards for best dressed.

(this is also very inexpensive and no sleep over mess to clean up!)
Reply:you could have a luiow party (i don't know how to spell it) with coconut bowling limbo hula dances hawiian stuff like that. you could have a hawiian grill with hawiian food and stuff like that
Reply:well, where do we start! if you dont want a lot of people you could have a restaurant meal or a barbeque and maybe a sleep over. for a theme you could have like really wacky or some thing! if you want a big party consider a disco.
Reply:Around your age, you can still have a sleepover. Try having a sleepover. They are fun :]

Stag Party - Can I get some guy's advice?

So my situation. I'm a girl. Have a very flirtatious, boyfriend. The boyfriend recently took a trip to Vancouver with about 1000 college student from around Canada for a scolastic competition, and he had blown off the competition to have fun, drink and party, which is completly fine by me, the only problem was that he had lied to me about ever going anywhere. (I found out anyways) Fine, he said he thought I would get mad, but I trust him, so I forgave the situation.

Anyways.

His friend, who is engaged is renting a house boat for a week this summer (for a stag party) at a notorious party location with an extreme party island included. Boys only, ofcourse. The problem is that his engaged friend has over the past year cheated a few times, and I believe will be a bad influence, amist drinking, bikinis, and all thats included.

I really would apprieciate a male opinion on this situation. Can a girl trust her guy at a stag? Is this a really bad situation?

Thanks!

Stag Party - Can I get some guy's advice?
the few rare guys will not cheat but I am much like the bf you are talking about... all my friends get a kick with trying to set me up to cheat on my gf... I've been good so far for 4+ months but its tough, most guys wouldn't last. The things that go on at such parties are only centered around huntin for women... with a previous history the story doesn't seem to have a very happy ending...
Reply:Guys that go away for a week like that don't deserve a nice girlfriend.

It is up to you to decide what kind of guy you want to be with. I know that most guys that would rather be with their woman, than with a bunch of boys for a week, unless they are gay or they are sleeping around with someone else.
Reply:Can a girl trust a guy at a stag? only you can decide. Can a girl be trusted at a Hen night? I'd say the chances are about even. It all depends on the people concerned I'd say. and not knowing him I cannot judge.
Reply:No don't trust him. If he is a close friend to that jerk then there are good chances that you are dating a jerk as well and have just blinded yourself to that fact. He lied to you about a trip, what else will he lie to you about. I only ever trust people who come forward with their **** personally and right away. My gf for instance made out with two guys in vegas on a trip she made there and she came back and told me within 10 minutes of seeing me and I forgave her. Unlike my ex gf who lied to me about holding hands with some dude after I found out about it and I left her and then her left her shortly after they got together.....

the thing is people who lie don't tend to change and they will continue to lie as long as it keeps them in the clear and if you are someone gullible enough to believe them then you are someone they will latch on to and lie to even more because you are predictable......

my advice to you as a guy who has been on crazy party sports teams throughout college and who has associated with frat dudes for a long time is to ditch your man. I am not the greatest person out there but I changed my ways and I got rid of all of my old friends when I realized that life was ruining my relationships.

You need to leave that fool and find someone else.

There are plenty of men in the world, don't stick by lying assholes....they are just not worth your time...

Go find a physics major. They are smart and will **** better because of it...though they may take a little training if they have no experience....
Reply:Hey, as they say, boys will be boys. I'm a married guy, but I remember those days. He's in a stage in his life where he hasn't completely matured. He's still enjoying not being married. It doesn't sound like he wants to be tied down anytime soon. I'm not going to say that he doesn't care about you. He probably does. He probably cares about you deeply, but the fact of the matter is, he's still a teenager inside and not ready to let go of his party side. The best advice I can give you dealing with a guy like that is not to worry about it. Even if he ever would cheat on you, he doesn't quite realize how much it would hurt you. If he were to hurt you, he would be very sorry about it after he did it, but he might lack the foresight to take control of his urges before it happens.

However, you know if he really cares about you. Let him be a boy for a while and let him go have fun. It's only a matter of time before he grows up completely. Let him enjoy it. If you are less constraining and just let him be, he's a lot less likely to cheat. He will appreciate the freedom more than you can imagine.

Halloween Party 2008 - On Friday - Party that night?

This year Halloween is on a Friday. For a party, what do you think is better? Keep in mind it's hard to have a party the day of, with parents bringing their kids trick-or-treating, also you don't want to be interrupted by kids ringing the doorbell...so...

Do you think it's better to have the party the weekend before, or the day after (Saturday night)..does it mean less if it's already after the day?

Halloween Party 2008 - On Friday - Party that night?
the weekend before is surly better...
Reply:keep your porch light off during the trick-or treating hours. Or put a sign in your yard saying NO tricker treaters. Maybe some of your friends work 2nd shift.

please no 'pimps and hoes' parties..its been so overused.

Themed Party Ideas?
ok my work throws a party like this every year and it's a HUGE hit!!

it's called a "white trash" party. everyone dresses up like their from a trailer park or the ghetto. it's hysterical to see how people come dressed.

last year I wore really tight fitting jeans w/a hole in the butt, a black bra and white tank top (you could totally see through it), I put my hair in a ratty, high ponytail and wore a TON of makeup-it was great!!

do something like that-people will have fun finding weird and "trashy" things to wear!!

happy b-day!!!
Reply:I thought this one was always a good idea... "lingerie party" and then... guys just wear as little as possible. lol.
Reply:very nice idea!

uhmmmmm...you could choose 50s, you know a bit like "grease" and hitchcock movies...very elegant

you can anyway choose the period, like 40s, 60s, 80s...and every guest will interpretate the spirit of the time in the way he wants...(in the 60s you have miniskirts, swinging london dresses and hippy style, for example)

or "ancient times" where your guests can choose to wear either like ancient greeks, romans or egyptians or vikings or even stone age people...

or you can do a very simple thing by choosing a colour, or two,. like "black and white party", "green and fuchsia party" and so on, or even "rainbow" (here black and white are not allowed!) so nobody would have to buy/make costumes...
Reply:Here are some.

-disney theme.. everyone has to dress up like something from a cartoon disney film eg Cinderella, sleeping beauty, puss in boots, snow white, seven dwarfs, wizard of oz(lion, scarecrow, tinman, wicked witch)

-superhero theme. Superman, spiderman, the incredible, wonderwoman.

-movie theme like moulin rouge. Lots of pretty dresses/makeup/hair and sexy dressed up rich men :]

dont stress to much on a theme just think of a fun easy one that everyone will enjoy, but make sure you bags the best character for you to dress up as ! have fun !

I believe both parties have set policies in place to prevent 3rd party competition.?

Do the two parties still need finicial assistance while making it hard for other parties to get assistance?

Why don't the smaller parties unite under an independant party ?

I believe we need another party to break the tie if nothing else.

What do you think?

I believe both parties have set policies in place to prevent 3rd party competition.?
It seems people in America like to support a winner more than a candidate that shares all their convictions, goals and values.

In European countries you find more of what you are talking about by that I mean several parties and then as it gets closer to the election coalitions are made to gain strength.

Here the work of getting certain special interests addressed is done by grass root groups and lobby groups.

The American system appears to work well but in the end it seems like the voice of the average person gets muffled when the Executive and Congress employ gridlock tactics and all we get is 'business as usual'
Reply:It only works because most of us are like sheep.

Awesome Party Themes?

I want to have a party this summer. but i dont know what the theme should be. I have had a lot of parties and have been to even more. i dont want a party theme that has been heard of or done. so anything you suggest has to be one of a kind. and out of this world! im 15 so i want it to be mature. No baby stuff. I dont want a aloha or disco or any years or colors for party ideas. i want completely original!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much for you suggestions. ♥

Awesome Party Themes?
the theme should be "You in a past life". And everyone can dress up like wacky people of the past like Einstein, Marlin Monroe or somethin i donno.Or maybe even like a normal liek plumer, or indian belly dancer.

Its an ok theme but its mos Def diffrent
Reply:how about moulan rouge? or mardi gras? i saw them both on super sweet 16

Really cool BIRTHDAY PARTY?

Okay so I'm in a group of four friends, and opne of my friends always has cool partys and her brithday is right after mine. This year I was planning on going to a hotel with my friends near a mall like 15 miles away from me. Well anyway, when I told her what I was planning on doing she said that she already got a hotel suite in New York City and going to time square and having a make up artist do our make-up. She doesn't like the idea of my party being in a hotel too. Now I can't have my party at a hotel and I don't know what I should do for my party. I want it to be just as good if not a better party than hers! Plan me an awsome party.... and no I don't want to have a plain old sleep over at my house, because we often have regular sleepovers with eachother, and then my party wouldn't be very special. I can spend money, just not WAY to much!

Really cool BIRTHDAY PARTY?
Okay .. yeah i totally understand, i have "friends" who do that ALL THE TIME-- ways to make ur party better.. heres one.. like rent out a space.. that u could put a dj in.. have a theme for ur party and give away awesome goody bags.. i know u have a budget but this might require some money. have great music food and lots of decorations to let them know that Your Party IS the best! Invite over ur best guy friends and your best girl friends and just have fun.. dont worry about whether ur party is going to be cooler than hers --or hey.. who cares.. pick a better hotel than hers and have it there.. anyways.. i hope this helped!! xx
Reply:how old are you??
Reply:I understand that she's your friend and all, but if you want a party in a hotel, then go ahead! Your friend doesn't have a say in what you do. And you don't have to make it a contest. Birthdays are about having fun!!

Also, have you ever considered camping?

Costume Party........?

There were 2 guys that were going to a costume party for Halloween, but it was a themed party. You had to come dressed as an emotion. For instance, one woman had worn all pink with a feather boa and she was "tickled pink".

Well the host of the party answers the door to see these 2 men standing there both stark naked. One had his penis in a bowl of custard and the other had a pear on his penis. The host is outraged and says "Don't you known this is an emotion costume party? You're not dressed up"

One of the men says "Oh to the contrary, we are dressed as emotions. I am f@#$ing disgusted and my friend has come in despair."

At a loss of what kind of party to do...*GIRL 13 YR OLD PARTY *?

It's like a big competition in are town, for the coolest, funnest party, that people like and will talk about for at least 3 days. I don't know If I want to do boy/girl party (60 kids, if so), or just girls (about 30). I'm kinda a girly girl, but the party doesn't HAVE to be girly girl themed, you know? Any suggestions for a BOY/GIRL fun party, that's cool, but not anything other ppl would do. OR any suggestions for a just GIRL fun party, that's cool, but not anything other ppl would do.

Should I do a big party? or just like me a 5 friends (do something like a shopping day) IDK!!! HELP!

I like:

-Acting

-Singing

-Dancing

etc etc

Maybe like a 80's themed party (BOY/GIRL)*crazy costumes, DJ, etc*?!

I don't know what to do?!! Great answers are REALLY appreciated! THANKS!

*Very Creative Party*

At a loss of what kind of party to do...*GIRL 13 YR OLD PARTY *?
You could have a new york party.

You could serve Nathan’s hot dogs, New York style corned beef and Lindy’s cheesecake....and no one would complain.

Black glitter tablecloths with Statue of Liberty centerpieces (rental only) or black and star balloons bouquets will set the room off perfectly.

Subway tickets could be seating cards. Directional signage pointing to New York’s famous hot spots and items of interest saying "take the Lexington Ave line" or " take the F train" should grace the entry way.

Each buffet station would be from a different neighborhood: lower east side, Chinatown, Little Italy and others ..... serving up an ethnic extravaganza.

Make Times Square come alive with a backdrop of the New York skyline complete with flickering lights in the windows behind your DJ or band!

Or have a murder mystery party!!!!
Reply:Okay, so this isn't really creative... but i just had my 13th birthday party at CHUCK E. CHEESE!! we had the most fun EVER! people are still talking about it and it was 2 months ago!!! you can invite boys and girls and really, 13 year olds love the games!!!

My 13th Birthday party ideas!!!?

My parents each year make me come up with sumthing i wanna do for my birthday party but i never come up with anything so i never have a party.

I'm turing 13 at the begining of Jan.(2nd) and I will probably be in Toyko at the time visting my family.

I should be back no later than the 10th or so.

I'm inviting guys and gurls so no spa partys or makeovers.

I'll probably invite about 10-20 people.

So i need help plannning my party.

Please answers sum of my questions.

Where should i have my party?(it dosen't snow here but it gets really cold)

When should i have my party that would be a good time when everyone is back from vacation?

What should we do at the party?

*i wuz thinking about the indoor ice skating rink which has an arcade then karaoke place and then my house to eat dinner/play games*

What do you think about that?

My 13th Birthday party ideas!!!?
I'm 13 so i think i can help you

i think the ice rink is a good idea but not the eating at your house, you should take them somewhere where the guests will make mess and you dont have to clean it up ;) at the party you should do a scavenger hunt, those are always fun.......
Reply:thats a little much to do the ice rink, karoke, and then go to your house, most people would only do ice rink. second of all how would youe get everyone from the ice rink to your house? thier parents are noto going to want to drop them off, then pick them up to drive them to your house then have to pick them up later again.

how about doing a 70's theme party.
Reply:That sound really cool hope you sick with that idea !

Wedding party?

Okay, so my girlfriend has a best friend and a sister. so her sis will be her maid of honor and her best friend will be in her wedding party. A mutual friend of ours will also be in her wedding party. What do i do? I have 3 best friends that I have known for over 22 years and 2 more that I have known for over 10 years. They are all very close to me and I want them to be in the wedding party. Do we have to have the same number on each side? If so does that mean I can only have 3 of my friends in my wedding party?

Wedding party?
I didnt have the same number... its no big deal...

So what I did is had each of my wedding party walk down the aisle by themselves (I personally think two escorts looks wierd)... so it worked out nice... once one person got halfway down the aisle, the next person started walking out (it was a long isle)

Then it looked more "even"... and yes, it will look off center when everone is standing up there, but who cares right? And usually for pictures the photographer will situate everyone to make it "picturesque"...

Have whoever you want in your wedding....

Good luck! Congrats!
Reply:Nope,

Have as many people in your party as you would like. You could have the guys come down the aisle alone and have all three as your best men (although it might be a little crowded up there). You could also have the single guys escort a female loved one (like an aunt or grandmother) down the isle as well. My nephew escorted my mom down the aisle at my wedding because my dad was with me.

Your wedding party is supposed to reflect your life, if you have 3 best friends you have 3 best friends.
Reply:No you dont have to have the same number of bridesmaids as groomsmen. You can have the guys come in from the side with the ministor and groom or have the guys come down first and than the girls come down.

We are having an unequal number and we are just going to have the guys come in from the side and than the girls come down the aisle by themeselves.
Reply:Bridesmaids and groomsmen don't have to be equal.
Reply:It's your wedding, you can do whatever you want.
Reply:Of course you don't need to have the same number. 1 woman can be escorted by two men if you have 4 people. It's fine and very common.
Reply:You dont have to have the same number you can each have as many as you want. No worries

Mario Party 5 or 6?

Yo. I have Mario Party 7 already. But I'm thinking about getting another Mario Party game. I have Mario Party 8, but it got scratched and I can't play it, because it can't read the disc.

Anyways, IF I get another Mario Party game, it'll be 5 or 6. Which one? Well my friend has the 5th so I could just play her's, so that's why I'm leaning towards 6. But idk still. 5 or 6? Or maybe even rebuy 8? (receipt is too old)

Mario Party 5 or 6?
I have both but I would go with Mario Party 6, mainly because it brings a microphone that you could plug into your system to play some mini-games. It does not add too much to the game since the number of Mic Mini-Games are limited, but its a nice addition.
Reply:Someone copied another persons answer. Anyway I would go with whatever i wanted. If i where you i wouuld buy MP8 or MP6 mabye even both.

Birthday party no shows?

My daughter is having a birthday party this weekend. We sent out 15 invitations, but I didn't realize that the party weekend (which is really the only weekend we were able to have the party) coincides with another event in our community. Five of the kids' parents RSVPd that they were coming, but 3 of them cancelled today. I have a feeling the other 2 will cancel, too.

How do I make it up to her if nobody comes to her party? She's going to be devastated.

Birthday party no shows?
Well this is a little slice of life for her to learn about. I wouldnt try to protect her from it too much. Just be matter of fact because how she sees you act about it will be how she will learn to act. Do have a fun alternative planned however maybe a special day trip , movie or favorite restaurant if no one comes
Reply:Change the date. Move it up a day or two or set it back. Just send out more invitations.
Reply:maybe u should invite more people!

if nobody shows up just make sure you bought her some really good birthday gifts, that might make her feel better.
Reply:Oh, that makes me want to cry. I would be heartbroken too if it were my daughter.

The good news is that she's 15, so she's plenty old enough to understand that the kids aren't not coming because they don't like her, it's just because of this other event.

Would it be possible to have the party AND go to the event, or are the times the same?

Man, I don't envy you. I'm one of those crappy parents that tries to buy love, so I'm sure I would be spending butt loads of money that I didn't have to make her smile. (I'm kinda kidding about the crappy parent thing...but I know I would end up buying her something crazy)
Reply:I take it that it's not possible to change the time, such that you have a pre-event warmup party (or post-event cool down one?)

Assuming that's a no, be proactive and call the last two to verify they're coming based on your new information (that unbeknownst to you, this other activity was happening.) You could also devise a backup plan with your daughter, for a slumber party or some amusement outing with these two friends. (My parents alternated between parties and couple-of-friend-outings for my birthdays, and I remember both fondly.) Or take the money saved from not having 16 girls underfood and splurge on entertainment (makeup artist? face painting? balloon animals?)

But mostly help her understand that these things happen, and you'll do what you can to make it up to her in a way that still makes her feel appreciated. (And at least you have time to come up with a plan! Really foul weather doesn't always give you advanced notice!)
Reply:Ask her if she would like to reschedule her party because it conflicts w/ the other comm event. Or, call the other 2 girls and "re" confirm that they are going to show up. The other "10" invites, call them and see what they are planning to do. Maybe your daughter would like to go to the comm thing too???

Friends/ birthday party help?

My birthday is comming up and i haven't had a party these past couple years and i was thinking of having one with my closest friends. The problem with this is none of the them (there's 6) know or possibly like eachother so i don't know if this is a good idea or not. "R"'s into the whole "ghetto" scene, is crazy and loves acting wild, "O" is really pretty and into her hair, makeup and cheerleading, J is really down to earth and likes bands like blink182, D's really silly/social and into stuff like horseback riding and crafts, E is ridiculously nice %26amp; caring and is into drama and theatre and lastly, S is almost my clone who is obbsessed with taking back sunday and swimming.

%26amp; if i did have a party, i wouldn't know what exactly to do with them all because their interests are so different.

Party or no party? %26amp; if "yay" for party than, any ideas for a theme?

Friends/ birthday party help?
Take a chance, %26amp; have the party. YOu probaly shouldn't have the party @ your house, though, as it'll be hard to decide how to decorate it, but if it is a must, just do the usual, you know, ballons %26amp; banners saying party or something, but anyways. 1. You should have the party @ an amusement park like hershey park, or dorney park, or Six flags, or disneyworld, or whatever amusement park you live near.

2. @ a local YMCA, or local pool, where you can go swimming, have fun, eat......

3. @ a park, you can have a picnic, set up a volleyball game, or something like that

4. @ the movies, Im sure you can find a movie that every1 would like

5. @ a bowling alley, U guys can have pizza %26amp; bowl, lots of fun!

Anyways, thats all the ideas I have... good luck on your party!!!! :-D
Reply:your friends sound like my friends hahah

i would say go out some where

like i went to six flags i love six flags mayb you should try something like that...

well good luck *-*

Halloween Party?

I'm having this oberly amazing Halloween party the weekend of Halloween right.?.? %26amp; I have no idea wether it should be a costume party or not!! %26amp; I was wondering if anyone had any ideas I could use for decorations or for fun at the party.

*Also I'm having the party in a really big feild right beside my house *It's where my G'pa's old garden use to be*

Halloween Party?
custume party!! :P lol that would be fun.
Reply:costume party with tiki torches for lights and fake headstones with attendees names and how they died
Reply:I Think u should just Act Free as u wanna be
Reply:OOOO I know this! I had a halloween party last year, and I'm having one this year. I have LOADS of tips for you.

Tip #1- Decorations

Because you are outside you want things that will affect the enviroment. Get a fog/bubble machine at target for about $15 and put it somewhere so nobody can see it. Make sure to have lights, spiderwebs, props, and scary anamatronics. Get tombstones, strobelights, and signs. You can look and maybe your mom will let you order some things from: http://www.spirithalloween.com

Tip #2- What party?

Make sure you know what part you are having. Will it be a dance or a lot of games? If you are having a dance, make sure you get the right stereo system and test your music. If you are having a game party, well just make sure you have games set-up. Or is it going to be a social party, where you just hang out and watch movies on the lawn?

Tip #3- FOOD!

Make sure you have enough food for all of your guest, and make it spooky oriented.

Tip #4- Invitations

Make invitations ahead of time.

Just a little extra....

Make sure you get LOTS of help for setting up! A party can be VERY stressful and takes lots of work, but overall they are well worth it!

Good Luck! HAVE FUN! Happy Halloween!

~Nick

PS HAVE A COSTUME PARTY!!!
Reply:~Make it a costume OPTIONAL party, then people can come in costume if they want...have a costume box, full of costume stuff just in case someone comes not dressed up but sees everyone else having fun in a costume :-)

~Well, I think you should have a couple little pits, with a small fire or heat burning and then little marshmellow packets and spears next to them. Have the marshmellow pits face a big screen(like a movie preojector projecting on a white wall or screen), so they can watch movies while eating marshmellows!!!

Then, little bright orange pumpkin lights all over the place. Those spider webby thingies, and bright lights hanging from all around.

~Have a dance floor and a LOUD speaker.

~Have a mini food bar, with halloween type foods, or regular food with spooky names like witches brew etc. MAKE SURE TO HAVE ENOUGH CANDY TO LAST THEM TIL NEXT HALLOWEEN. LOL. ideas for food: CANDY, donuts, Caramel/candy apples, Frozen fruit(hey need to have at least one nutrituous thing:), I LOVE FROZEN GRAPES!! Chips, Soda, Rootbeer floats, Pretzels, Popcorn.....

~Maybe a moonbounce??? lol i Love them no matter what age I am

~Maybe spin the bottle

~Donut on a string contest, or something of that sort. (Tie a strong string on two posts. Take string and attach donuts to the long string. Have guests try to eat the donuts while they are swinging, they can only use their mouths, no using hands :-D)

~Silly string fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have this near the end or your yard will be wrecked. Divide into teams, have one team wear like a jersey so it is distinguishable from the other team, hand each person a silly string can. 1...2...3... ATTACK!!!!

~Goody Bags, optional i guess. Fill it with tasty candy, not the kind old people give out lol. For girls, girly things, like cute lip gloss containers and stuff....

Boys: weird things like the glasses with the big nose, or fake blood packages........

Be creative, have fun!!!!!!

good luck

Reply:definitely a costume party!!!! there is nothing more fun. Just hang some spiderwebs, and get some black balloons. Everything should basically be black. Get one of those bowls where the hand grabs you (target).

SEX PARTIES!! How much can you make as a Passion Party Consultant?

I'm considering being a passion party consultant, I'm just curious how much money people who are consultants make a month? How many parties do you have to do to make that amount of money? Do you like the job or regret doing it? Please give me as much information as you can! Also, please answer only if you are a consultant for passion parties or for another company of the same nature...thanks!!

SEX PARTIES!! How much can you make as a Passion Party Consultant?
Hey Nicole,

There is no easy way to really answer your question other than to tell you I am a Passion Party Consultant myself. I personally love it..the parties are so much fun and you stand the chance to make alot of money. However, like with any home based business you will get out of it what you put in. You book the parties around your schedule, which is what makes it so great because you are your own boss. For very little investment you could have a great income. Along with that Passion Parties has an amazing team of people that are always willing to help. With Pasiion Parties you are never alone but at the same time you are never pressured either. Passion Parties is an amazing team to be a part of. I would love to talk to you more about it..Its quite a bit to type here. But if you are seriously interested in becoming a consultant please contact me and I would love to answer more of your questions. My email is apassionpartygirl@yahoo.com
Reply:Hi!! I know several people that are consultants for Passion Parties and similar companies. They have good and bad months with any business. The one thing they are constantly complaining about is not being able to do much advertising and networking. I am a consultant for Purse Party and can market my business anywhere (churches, schools, fundraising events, bridal shows, business expos) they are always upset that they are unable to do these type of events to spread the word more. that is something you really want to think about!
Reply:don't take the risk if it's illegal.most of this job r very high pay but it can't last long, only 1-2 years then wind up the business.

Boring party fun?

Speak in a strange foreign accent. when someone asks where you are from, name a country only you can pronounce.

Use a different accent every time you talk to someone new.

When getting food, pile everything onto your plate in heaping servings - make sure to use your hands!

Ask the host, "Who threw this cheesy party, anyway?"

Turn cartwheels across the floor. If you can turn a back flip, all the better!

Bring a novel and curl up in a corner with it.

Cough all over guests, then exclaim, "Doctor says a few more years and I'll be cured..."

Hang your head and whisper one-word answers to questions.

Play a lullaby on a kazoo during a speech (singing a lullaby works okay, too)

If there is music, mix up your dancing: break dance to classical, symphony conductor hand waves to techno music.

If you find your former dancing partner dancing with someone else, burst into tears, wailing "I thought you loved me!", and run from the room.

Tell a middle-aged wife, "Your husband seems very happy with that girl in the closet..."

Tell a middle aged man, "Your wife seems very happy with that boy in the closet..."

Whisper to the guest on your right, "What kind of lame moron actually goes to these parties, anyway?"

Bring Lego warships and fighter jets. Wage a war in the middle of the room. Urge other guests to get involved. If you are a historical expert, reenact the revolutionary war, the civil war, world war two, etc.

Bring a soccer ball, basketball, football, or baseball. Start a game... in the kitchen.

Karate chop everywhere and everything. Yell really, really loud. A few sudden kicks would be worthwhile as well.

Wear wool or feathers and sneeze all night. "The doctor says I'm not allergic to anything except sheep and birds..."

If someone says the word no to you, say, "How dare you turn down the prince / princess of Ugranialo!"

Burst into the room an hour late, sopping wet and screaming, "I've done it! I've found Atlantis!"

Pick out the oldest women at the party, run up to her, and exclaim, "Grandmother! it's me, Anastasia!"

If it is a summer party in the evening, break into a duet with another guest: "Summer nights". Persuade the host to sing "You're the one that I want" with you.

Come in saying, the guy outside in the lab coat is looking for (insert name of host).

Boring party fun?
Cool! I added this to my list of to-do things!
Reply:I love the Atlantis one!

Breakfast party?

I'm turning 15. I want to have a breakfast party because I share b-days w/ a lot of girls, and they always get pissed about when mine is. Soooo, I'm planning it for the morning! I can't decide btwn a Breakfast at Tiffany's party or The Breakfast Club party. I've never seen either. Which do you think would be a better party? Also, ideas, ideas, ideas!! Thanks!

Breakfast party?
How about ya watch the movies before you plan a party around them?

The Breakfast Club is way better.
Reply:How about Breakfast Club at Tiffany's? A mixture of both could be a hoot.

Happy B-Day!
Reply:know your audience, breakfast at Tiffany's is an older movie and may not hold the attention of 15 year old girls but its still fun and has some good elements if you wanted to put them into a theme. Watch te movie ahead of time. You could bring in masks or even Audry Hepburn-like accessories for the group. Breakfast club is a bit more modern though still dated. There are more teenage-relatable themes in that movie and you'll have a lot of fun watching tha together.
Reply:You are 15 go for the breakfast at tiffanys your still alittle young for breakfast club

I am planning a birthday party for my boyfriend. However I have one problem: the timing!?

I am doing this wicked birthday party for my bf. I have been working on it and planning it for ages, however I have one problem and because of it things aren't quite coming together. I have to be back in my dorm at 9pm sharp! Now that means theres no staying up partying the night away :( Now, yeh, that does suck but I dont plan on ruining his party just cuz I cant party all night long!

What should I do? I was thinking of starting the party at 4 pm. But then partying at 4pm?? It seems out of place. Maybe I thought, I cud do a pool party.. I really dont know. Im stuck for ideas now and I only have 4 weeks left!!

Please please give me any of ur ideas, or tips. I am totally stuck and I dont want to ruin it for him.

I am planning a birthday party for my boyfriend. However I have one problem: the timing!?
Start the party at noon. Buffet lunch. Poker tables. Loud music.
Reply:If you have to be back at the dorm at 9pm if you are staying there for the night, make arrangements with a friend, or even your man, to stay somewhere else. If you don't have to go back to the dorm before a certain time, partying wont be a problem.
Reply:I think 6 pm would be a better time, then again you didn't mention what day it was on. 4 pm might be good if it's on a weekend, but if it's a weekday, 6 pm would be more appropriate.
Reply:If it's going to be on a weekend, starting to party in the middle of the day is fine! People start BBQs and outdoor things all different times during the summer. You could even go a little earlier than 4 and make it a lunch time thing, that goes into the evening, like 2 o'clock. But then you'll still have lots of time before you have to go. . . . If it's a weekday, 4 may be too early for peope to start partying, and get out of work, etc. You might be better off with 6 at that point. . . .Keep in mind, if you have 4 weeks still, maybe you can get out of whatever it causing you to need to leave early. Best of luck!
Reply:There is nothing wrong with starting a party that early...most "adult" parties start in the late afternoon...a pool party would be fun...inexpensive, and ensure your guests would have plenty to do to entertain themselves..plus...the "decorations" would be a cinch...anything nautical..puka shells or leis for the guests as they arrive...(there is a cool company called Oriental Trading Co..and they are on-line.. where you can get ALL kinds of cool, CHEAP stuff for a party..I've used them quite a bit, and have never been disappointed...)...

But most of all...have fun!
Reply:afternoon

Birthday Party?

My 13 year old daughter wants to have her birthday party soon. She wants to have a reletavely big party (30 or so people) for her 13th. She really likes things that are unusual or not classic. as well, she really likes to do things that aren't like a party group... but it's fine if it is (example: go to a craft workshop place) she likes to be the boss of her party

Birthday Party?
A cooking class is original

scavenger hunt where the prize is like a pot of candy

take her to a store and have the scavenger hunt there, maybe you could talk to the owners and let them have the store to themselves or have a sleepover there.

Just find out what her hobbies are and make a party out of her hobbies.
Reply:find some kind of theme for the guests to dress up and arrange the details around that. 80's, celebrities, gothic, hillbilly, etc...
Reply:You should do a sleepover party, have your daughter's friends sleepover and they could hang out with each other.

Slumber party for 6 year olds?

My daughter's birthday is coming up and after her party, some of the girls will be staying for a slumber party. I'm not wanting more than 6 all together, I'll be on my own. I have never had a slumber party other than having her 2 boy cousins over night. So what are some good things to do with a bunch of 5/6 year olds? How would you set it up, just ask the parents to send them with sleeping bags? My daughter's grandma said she has a blow up mattress, and I might get one. I hate to put them on the floor, unless that is where they want to be. How do I keep them entertained for the rest of the night. This is new to me, when i was younger, I was a home body and never really had a slumber party. I don't want to have plans made for the whole night, I want to give my girl the opportunity to entertain her friends, with out me standing right over them. Any ideas on things we can do, anything would be great. Thanks

Slumber party for 6 year olds?
Wow, 6 6 yr olds? you're so brave :)

Have games they like, maybe a short video that they'll enjoy.

W/ that young, you need to have a set time to get into their sleeping bags and settle down. You should prolly sleep in the same room w/ them, so prepare for that. Also prepare to be calling at least one parent at 10:00 PM b/c Suzie doesn't want to stay at a strange house!

Oh, and i think sleeping bags on the floor is fine. Set them up in the living room, or somewhere w/ a lot of room on the floor. Have a nightlight so it's not super-dark. I didn't like pitch black when I was little :)

Also, catch a nap that afternoon b/f!
Reply:i would say get out some crafts, like paints,or markers, or they can make those beaded jewlery. i think they would enjoy that, you may want to get a favorite movie to for them to settle down to at the end of the night. if you have a michaels they have tons of Craft ideas you can use. good luck and have a great time, i wouldnt worry to much, kids are usually happy as long as there out the house and having fun lol
Reply:Yes, have them bring a sleeping bag, a pillow, and pajamas. Order a pizza, half pepperoni, half cheese. The girls can play with toys, watch a movie, in your kid's room. They can keep themselves entertained with things like that. Have them sleep not in your kid's bedroom, but in a different room.
Reply:Slumber parties are soooo much fun. I think you're right in not planning the whole night but having activities available to them. Let them play dress-up (any costumes or your old high heels they can play with, including make-up if that is okay with you). Have some yummy goodies for them to munch on and eat while watching some age-appropriate movies. Board games are fun too. Since they are six, they probably won't stay up that late. And I would probably leave a note for the parents to call you anytime and be willing to meet them at the door, introduce yourself, and tell them the plans for the evening and what time to pick them up in the morning (you don't want parents knocking at your door at 6:00 a.m. to pick up their child). Relax and enjoy watching your daughter have fun!
Reply:I would suggest asking your daughter if she wants you to plan games or if she wants you to let them play on their own. Lots of times they'll be perfectly happy playing with their dolls or play make up or whatever other toys they're into, maybe she wants to watch a movie. As for the parents of the other children, I would definitely suggest sending them a note or calling them personally, it would help them feel safer about sending their child to your house over night.
Reply:I would suggest you having a plan and then allowing your daughter to stray away from it if she likes but if she runs out of ideas then she can go back to yours but that way she feels like she has some control too. As far as activities, I would have a movie and popcorn, a few games (something they can all play at the same time) like simon says or pin the tail on the donkey or something like that. You could do their nails but I would not if I were you cause they probably wont sit still long enough for it to dry and you dont want polish on your couch or carpet. Also you could have them put on a talent show.

I would include your phone number in the invitation so the parents know how to reach you and can call w/ any questions (also your address if you will be bringing the kids home w/ you from the party if its not at the house). Tell the parents to send sleeping bags (or blankets) and pillow and anything they may need to sleep w/ at night (like a fav blanket or doll) and having them on the floor is perfectly fine, kids don't care and I'm sure they will expect to sleep there anyway since its a slumber party. Have Fun and take LOTS of pics! Or record if you can!
Reply:Whatever you have them do I'm sure will be fine. Crafts is good. Pizza and movie. Paint toe nails (clear or very light pink). Music...sing along kind of thing. Name and phone number in invite is a "must" if you want your daughter to have anyone over that is. Sleeping bags would be great. Kids love this sort of thing, they don't mind it at all. You might want to contact the parents to see if any of the girls need to use PULLUPS at night time. Save yourself and the child some embarrasement.

Final note: save the movie for around the time you want them to drift off to sleep.
Reply:A good thing is to be VERY CAREFUL. I never have other people's kids stay over (unless they are family) There are a lot of issues surrounding adults/children and safety without getting too specific ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE MARRIED. Good luck. Also, hope and pray no child is injured.
Reply:Speaking as the mother of a 6 yr old myself (and also planning a sleepover, but for only 4 children) here is what I would want from someone if MY daughter was invited for a sleepover. I would want to know who, what, when, where, and why... let me elaborate a little. WHO will also be at this part... some parents have problems with certain things... WHAT is going to happen at this party, nail polish, make up, popcorn, all these things can pose a threat to someone that is allergic, or maybe a parent has a strict no makeup rule (too many young girls trying to become adults these days) so you will want to inform the parents of any activity you have planned that has to involve adults. WHEN. I would like to know when my child will be expected there and what time I should pick her up. If you have something to do the next day at 3, dont tell the parents to pick up the kids at 2:30, someone WILL be late. WHERE. I want to know where my daughter will be going (maybe you have a park within walking distance you want to go... thats fine, I just want to know about it. or maybe you think playing flashlight tag is cool, well if my daughter will be outside running around after dark, I want to know about it also!. WHY. thats pretty self explanitory, why are we having this party, a bday, a just because (mine will be a Halloween party) that just helps the parents understand (in this day and time) someone would want 6 young females at their house! As for some of those other answeres you recieved they all have some very good points... too many plans will make for a boring night but not enough plans will make for chaos. You'll want dinner, snacks, drinks, and phone numbers for the child who doesnt want to stay handy and ready for your use at any time. Make sure your daughter and the other children understand that there will be a specific bed time and let them know ahead of time (at least 5 minutes) before changing activities (that always helps the transition go smoothly) !

oh, and if you find anything that I didnt mention to come in handy, please pass on the information ;) I would love any advice an experianced parent has in this department!

Reply:first i would say yes put a note in there and maybe meet with the moms before the big day. rent the latest Disney film let the girls pop popcorn and try some cheap beading and craft ideas. look at oriental-trading.com for great cheap ideas, they have lots of theme stuff. have the girls bring their sleeping bags and pillows and maybe even a stuffed animal for comfort.
Reply:Having done this for the last couple of years, here's my advice:

You can't invite some to stay, and not all. The girls who aren't staying will feel left out, and rightly so. So either cut down the total list or gamble that some of the girls will opt for a "faux sleepover".

Faux sleepover - set a time when the parents can come get their girls before bed. 9:30 worked well for us -the girls were in their jammies, toenails painted, getting ready to settle down when 2 moms showed up and took their girls home (ironically, one mom only took 1 twin, the other stayed). The girls who leave aren't ready for a sleepover, but don't want to miss the pre-bed fun.

Have some activities that the girls can safely do without a lot of supervision - beads is good because you can vacuum any mess. Fingernail polish requires mom's help...unless you don't like your carpet.

Have everything at your house - trying to drive 6 girls to destination is a set up for disaster.

They can sleep in their own sleeping bags on the floor (some parents might send air mattresses), and they love the feeling of being "alone" ie: you check on them quietly w/o them knowing it.

Set a bedtime for lights out - say 10 or 10:30 and stick to it. These are little girls, they do need their sleep.
Reply:6 yr old are kinda young for a sleepover but...

i would take them out for dinner at like a pizza place or chucky cheese, or somewhere like that. then bring them home and set up a movie. Definately invite the other girls' parents over to help them set up there sleeping bags, and talk to you. Maybe you want to call a teen as sorta like a babysitter, but just as her to play with the girls for a few hours, for a couple dollars. im sure they'll have a great time

*chances are, since these girls are onlt 5/6, they will get homesick and will want to see there mommies. that is an issue you might want to adress
Reply:-Have a dance. Get some CD's or download some music that your daughter enjoys and let the girls have fun.

-You can also go to the dollar store and buy a bunch of makeup and let them make themselves up.

-Get a movie and some microwave popcorn.
Reply:With all of these questions it is obivious that you are not going too let the kids have fun. Let them decide what they want too do and leave them alone other than making sure that they are safe.
Reply:Plan a few things, but don't be too strict on the timing. Let them play and entertain themselves. My guess is that if you put in a movie and have them lay down and watch it around 10, they'll be asleep by 10:30
Reply:it's a good idea to let the parents know your number and everything.

from what i can recall.. slumber parties are just a bunch of girls laughing- gigling- playing around.

they will probably want to be on the floor... although i dont think it matters if theres a mattress or not... a bunch of blankets and pillows plus popcorn and good movie should do.

i know some girls like to have their hair played with.. and stuff like that. Maybe you can paint toe nails or something like that.

good luck handling all those young ladies.
Reply:I would talk to the girls parents individually. SO the parents will feel comfortable with letting their kids stay with you. I would just get some games and snacks and movies. They can bring their barbies or baby dolls if they want and i'm sure they'll keep themselves pretty busy. Just alwayshave something on hand in case they get bored with things. I would just watch that some might get homesick b/c it might be their first sleepover too.

Should Green Party members take over the Democratic Party, much like the Religious Right did with the Rep.?

Or should the Green Party remain completely autonomous... Certainly the Religious-right isn't the majority in the Republican Party (about 30 percent) but they're by far the most outspoken and get the most benefit during Republican regimes. Could the Green Party become an effective arm of the Democratic Party?

Should Green Party members take over the Democratic Party, much like the Religious Right did with the Rep.?
LOL... look at the candidates!
Reply:You are joking. Actually, they would have a hard time pushing the rainbow loving abortionists out of the way.
Reply:yes

like the hippies and tie-dye
Reply:They should take over the dem party, but they won't. The Green Party actually stands for something, whereas the democrat party only stands for one thing: gaining power. They don't know what they are about, since many of them are unaware of the true goals of the liberal movement which has infultrated and taken over the democrat party.
Reply:Seeing what the religious right's domination of the Republican party has done for them, I'd say no. Their religious agenda has led people to stop taking them seriously. I'm a Demorcrat and I don't want that to happen to my party.
Reply:It would be a step in the right direction. Or would that be left?
Reply:As my old man, a former Democrat, once said, "I didn't leave the party. The party left me."

I would actually like to see a Conservative Democrat. I would define that as one who is fiscally Conservative (spending at a minimum, maintains a balanced budget), but believes in a high level of deduction before income taxes kick in. I would further define that as one who does not bend over on social issues, but approaches these in a matter of moderation.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen too many of those running around.
Reply:The far left already dominates the Democratic Party, even though the far left is a minority of the population.

If the Green Party did take over the Democratic Party that would just place the Democratic Party even farther to the left.

We have lost elections that we should have won because of the excessive influence of the far left in the Democratic Party.

If the Green Party were to take over the Democratic Party we would just lose more elections to right wing Republicans.
Reply:The Dems certainly need some congresspeople who have the courage to do what they promised to do when they were running for office.

i think the green party has some members who aren't afraid of anyone... but i also think that MUCH like the Religious Right, the green party's IDEALS will get in the way of the wishes of the people they represent in the future.

i think that all elected officials have an obligation to take the pulse of the people they reperesent. They need to act on the wishes of the masses.

The reason so many people are former republicans is because the ideology of the Religious Right impeded their ability to represent their people... it became all about what the elected leaders wanted, what the religious right wanted and the people they "represent" became unimportant to them.

the same thing would happen if the Green Party took over... it would get to a point where no matter what the majority of americans wanted, the Green Party Democrats would just do what the green party wanted them to do, and the people would be ignored...

i think more progressive, more constitutionally oriented people need to run for office on both sides of the party line...

Congress and the president will need to understand that not EVERYONE in America is either a bible-thumping cristian or an athiest... they also need to understand that not EVERYONE is either a tree-hugger or an earth killer...

most people are fairly moderate on those issues...and it makes no sense that the government should run completely right on those issues or completely left....
Reply:I'd welcome the Green party to become involved with us Democrats.

That wouldn't bother me any and they make a WHOLE heck of a lot more sense than the loony God-freak right people.
Reply:I think so maybe it will do some good for the enviroment!!!!
Reply:Yes it could but is that truly what we want.?

Bachelorette Party problems...how do i handle this?

I am the MOH for my best friend %26amp; I am beginning to plan her Bach. party. I went to her house yesterday and was talking to her and her mother about her wedding showers and her bachelorette party got brought up. All of the bridesmaids, other close girlfriends %26amp; myself are going out for a night on the town after a dinner with her younger sisters who are in the wedding but are only 13 %26amp; 16. Some of the stuff i would think is inappropriate for her sisters to see so we are doing it out at the clubs. We were talking %26amp; her mother said that SHE wants to be there...%26amp; that she SHOULD be invited since she is paying for the wedding. The bride didnt like this idea %26amp; she voiced her opinion about it but her mother said she did not care, she is paying for the wedding therefore she should be invited to everything. She also said that she did not want us out partying because she didnt like this idea %26amp; the brides sisters did not need to be around it but they should be there for the whole party.

Bachelorette Party problems...how do i handle this?
It is the brides night. I think that whatever she wants is what you should do. Good luck
Reply:It is really up to the bride to set her mom straight, not you! But i see your problem. The mother is being completely ridiculous, so she has brought this upon herself. I think you should have the party as originally planned, and do not tell her anything about it. Don't tell her the date, don't tell her where it is, or anything.

OR

Go to dinner, invite everyone, then after dinner say goodbye to everyone while you and the girls go out club/bar hopping as originally planned. Do not mention these plans ahead of time to the mom or younger sisters in case they leak it to the mom.

OR

Tell the bride that its time to practice being her own person and have her tell her mom exactly what the plan is, and do not give in. Why would her mom want to go somewhere where she is clearly not welcome? I think the best option is to tell the bride to set her mom straight, regardless of whether she likes it or not.
Reply:its sounds like the mom is trying to take over...she needs to remember this is her daughters day...not hers...and while she is paying for the wedding and all..you said the bridesmaids and yourself were paying for the bachlorette party...to appease mom alittle plan the dinner early...say 6pm...all the gifts that are appropriate for the younger sisters should be opened then...then they will feel that they got a piece of all the action of the night..i am sure if you talk to her sisters they will understand..heck they probably wouldnt want there mama in the mix with their weddings....all the "naughty"gifts can be saved for later when they are not around...then around 7 or 8 when the dinner is over-the younger girls will be hopefully tired of yall and mama might have to take them home...if mama has to go..then she is gonna have to get the what we call..the bill cosby talk down....let her know that this is a special night planned for her daughter and that you made arrangements to take care of her...tell her if she wants to come along that is fine but do realize this is an event for her daughter and not her...it is her daughters marriage and if you are down for the bar hoppin ride that is about to happen...or option b is to give her some last minute tasks for the wedding which may keep her occupied through the bachlorette party...good luck to you and your party..i hope it works out
Reply:Ha, tell mommy that yes she is paying for things and you appreciate her for that. Then tell her that you are grownups now and want to do grownup things, these are in fact not things the younger sisters need to attend. Tell Mom she is more than welcome to come but you do not need her permission to be an adult anymore. Tell her it is also your wedding you only plan on doing this once and your bachelorette party is important to you. Tell her she might not be comfortable being around the people and things you plan to do later that night. Good luck
Reply:This actually sounds like a great opportunity to plan something that's actually original instead of the exact kind of bah party that everyone everywhere plans.

I'm not sure why the bride is getting lingerie? Bach parties are not normally gift giving events- but that aside, you have 2 choices- you can come up with some original ideas or you can have the party you planned and totally alienate the bride's family.
Reply:Plan a dinner night and G rated bach party for a different night. Go out with the girls the next night or the next weekend. Split them up. The girls mother is being unreasonable, but you should still be able to work around it. To keep her out of trouble, you could "steal" her for the naughty party. Just make sure she has the type of party she wants one way or the other.

GOOD LUCK!
Reply:Plan a separate one with the the MOB's knowledge.
Reply:I would let the bride sort it out with her mother. If, in the end, it must be G-rated, go along with it. The bachelorette party is not that important in the grand scheme of things. You could always have a secret second bachelorette party another night.
Reply:Give a "family" staggette and invite mom %26amp; little sisters to keep the peace. Have the kind of party you want on the sly and insist that it was unplanned, totally spontaneous. Yes, that is an obvious lie, but stick to your story that the bunch of you "just happened" to drop in at so and so's home, went out for burgers %26amp; beer, and one thing led to another. Mom may call you on your lie, but no matter how much she is honest and your are telling fibs, she will still look like a sour puss spoil sport who is pouting about being left out of a group she shouldn't be trying to "horn in on" in the first place.

Of course you can't expect mom to PAY for this outing, so everybody better start saving their nickels.
Reply:Ahh, the joys of planning a wedding. It's always tricky to keep everyone happy and involved with all that a wedding entails. Since the bride has voiced her opinion that she doesn't want her mom out at the clubs with you guys maybe you could do two seperate parties, one with family included and one just for the bride and her girls. That way you can keep mama and sisters involved, but the bride can also cut loose and have her fun.

Or, just do the bach party for you gals, and involve mom and sisters more in the bridal shower, and make that more G rated.
Reply:Tell the mother that they are not excluding the bride's sisters (perhaps have some really fun stuff that they can give their sister (Victoria's gift cards) at the restaurant. Tell them Mom that it is up to the MOH to throw the party and that if she thinks it is not appropriate, she does not need to come. Tell her that it is the bride's party and she is more than welcome to come to the restaurant with the rest, but the crowd is going out after that. If she does not like it, tough.

Talk it over with her, if she is still unreasonable, perhaps you can get one of the Aunts/Uncles (mother's sister/brother) or friends involved to set her straight. Paying for the wedding gets her the invite for the bridesmaids luncheon, not the bach. party.
Reply:"Change your mind" to have the G rated party but sneak off sometime to have the "big girl" party. What's she gonna do ground you? you're not sixteen right?
Reply:Tell everyone that since there is no agreement on the bacherlorette party, you have decided not to have one.

Then after swearing everyone to secrecy, you all get hooked up and go out and have fun.

If that foolish mom finds out about it later... too late she's already married by then.

I guarantee i wouldn't be taking a 13 yr old kid to my bachelor party!
Reply:It seems like the bride and the mom has personal problems within eachother. They shouldnt put you in that kind of stress. You should let them try to communicate with eachother and figure out their differences so they can have a good and happy wedding where both of them can enjoy that beautiful day.
Reply:The bride just needs to be honest with her mom. I did not invite mine to the bach. party, and she understood perfectly. Just because she is paying for the wedding, does not mean that the bride is obligated to invite her to the bach. party...especially when you are throwing it for her. The bride needs to step up here, or this situation will only get worse.
Reply:I tell you what.....If you can't do it in front of your mother then you shouldn't be doing it anyway. That is why I paid for my wedding.....
Reply:It sounds as if the bride and her mom have some things to talk about.

This is the bride's party and she should do what she wants. I think it's great that you are all being considerate of the fact that her younger sisters are going too and are planning dinner, however, if the bride chooses to go out clubbing or to the bars for her bachelorette party then she should be able to. It seems like her mom is being incredibly pushy and overbearing and using the fact that she's paying for the wedding as an excuse, which it shouldn't be. The bride really should sit down and talk to her mom about this and hash it out because ultimately this is a problem not for you to resolve, but for the bride and her mother to resolve.

Good luck!
Reply:I'm having the same problem with one of my girlfriend's parties. She has 3 younger ladies in the wedding as well. I'm going to invite them to eat with us and let her open their presents and then they are going home. That's when the real party starts! We're going to be drinking and have lingerie and other naughty stuff. It's the Bride's night! She gets to say who comes and who doesn't. If she doesn't want her mom there, don't invite her. She paying for the wedding not the B-Party!
Reply:Its up to the bride- totally!!!! You can't have a bachelorrette party without the penis straws and the lingerie... her mom is going to have to get over it, b/c thats what us girls do before our friends get hitched! If she is pitching that big of a fit about it, just have a "mock" party and then go out another night with the bride and the bridesmaids... apparently the only way your bride is going to get her party is if her mother knows nothing about it!
Reply:Seems to me like the bride needs to nip this one in the butt. Unfortunately there is not much you can do at this point, unless you decide to do two separate things.

My Sister N law had a party during the day at her moms house, just a small get together, just women, and we had fun while she opened all her sexy gifts... and then all the bridesmaids and some of the younger girls (21 and over) that chipped in for the limo went out to some clubs later that night.... It was a lot of fun.

Good luck to you, i really hope everything works out for you and the bride. Sounds like her mom needs to cut the cord.

To add:

With the younger girls i think i would just do the dinner thing, like you suggested. All of this truly is not up to the mother, and the bride really needs to get involved and tell her mother how it is going to be. She may be paying for the wedding but she is not paying for the bachlorette party...
