Birthday Party Ideas?

I need ideas and suggestions. I was thinking of having my kids combined birthday party on the Fourth of July. Its on a Friday and almost everyone is off that day and into the weekend. My daughter's 2nd Birthday is June 26th, my 8y wedding anniversary is July 1st and my son's 4th birthday is July 9th...

Do you have ideas for the party or is it a bad idea to do it that day? My son wants a Sponge Bob Party and my daughter loves Elmo, I was thinking of getting them a cake with both characters combined or maybe a small cake each...I really don't like combining their birthday especially since one is a boy and the other a girl but my husband says its too expensive to have two parties back to back, which I agree and his birthday is 9-6 and his sister's is 9-8 and he says he never minded sharing a birthday party with her.....

Birthday Party Ideas?
I think that you should combined the parties together. I come from a large family and we have at least 12 kids birthdays in November . We do it all the time well it's just your kids having a party that's means that you will save money and time. It's your kids day and yours too so have a nice time. Get the full sheet cake and have both of the characters on the cake. Have food for the kids like hot dogs something easy you don't want to be cooking half of the day. I hope you have a nice b-day and anniversary.....
Reply:I don't think it would be a good idea to have the party on that day, because people usually would have plans for the weekend or parties of their own. You wouldn't want to have a party with very little people attending.

If this party is for close friends and family only, then consult with them ahead of time on their future arrangements for that weekend. If everyone is OK, then go for it. You still got a good 2-3 months left.

Just don't make it as a surprise party and be disppointed when people refused to come or just don't show up.
Reply:well you could have the party like say 3 hours long or how ever you want it.

the first half could be dedicated to the son and the second half dedicated to the daughter.

the inside of the house could be decorated elmo and the outside spomgebob.

you could have a cake with them combined, or 1 choc. 1 van.

yEAHHH.. sorry my answers bad..
Reply:I wouldn't have it on the fourth. A lot of people go away and have plans, and that is a special day all on it's own. you should teach your children the meaning of that day, not just party and fireworks!
Reply:I don't think your kids are old enough to care about having a birthday party devoted to only them. Barbecue chicken, watermelon, and popsicles all around.

Our 7th aniversary is also on the 1st.
Reply:Party ideas - Has nothing to do with Marriage %26amp; Divorce. Perhaps if you put into the correct catagory you may get some exceptional responses from people who know about kids parties.
Reply:um that was confusing
Reply:I would worry more about the day then anything else because a lot of people go away for the weekend or prefer spending time with their own families. Other then that I think its a good idea to share parties. Get a cake with both elmo and sponge bob on top. You can decorate the party in yellow and red colors such as streamers, balloons, utensils, etc. etc. For party bags (if you use them) get solid yellow and red colors. Have a banner for your son %26amp; daughter - his in yellow with sponge bob and hers in red with elmo. You don't necessarily have to use the red whit and blue theme but thats totally up to you - Have fun.
Reply:That should sound fun. You could do your children's borthday parties together and invite both of their friends. Do it in some fun games place that both of them will enjoy. They as for the cake, I'd suggest two little ones with their favorite characters on each. That way there will be a table and the guests for your daughter will be sitting beside her and guests for your son will be beside him. Do not combine you wedding anniversary with this even though, because that will be too much. But your children are very close in age so as long as they agree to this arrangement it could be fine.

For ideas about the birthday party. There are many places for birthdays that can be looked up in the yellow page or online. Some like games and slides and indoor activity places, that should be great for them. it will cost much less having the party together so it would be very good. Some even provide with lootbags, so just check online through google for party places and you should get many links.

Have fun !
