Birthday party ideas?

i'm trying to plan a sweet sixteen. i have a few ideas for themes..but other suggestions are welcome. the partys not at my house.

-toga party

-80s crazy dance party

-(do i have to PLAY 80s music? or can i just play regular hired dj music with the 80s theme and clothes, etc.)

p.s. i want a cool party for 100+ people, but am not into the mtv super sweet sixteen self absorbed girls..although i want it the party to be MY birthday party...i don't want it all to be about me.

ideas on decorations, food, or anything else are appreciated!

Birthday party ideas?
Make it an 80s party.

Can I come too if you make it an 80s party?

I got plenty of 80s songs on my iPod.
Reply:hmmmmmmm............................. an idea for a theme is all of the holidays mixed together. I am using that for my party this year. I don't know WHY you would want 100+ people, but whatever. It seems like WAY too much stress, and it would be hard to entertain everybody. Keep it down to 30 people at the most.

Food, how about CAKE!! or pie, it seems that all guys like pie for some stupid reason.

Have several things to do. Have music going, movies to watch, something to do outside, and food. everyone likes food.

okay, I am just babbeling now. good luck on your party, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Reply:five hookers and a dozen kegs of beer
Reply:It sounds like you are into dress - up but if you don't like 80's music why do an 80's theme? Why not go for a 'Masquerade' theme and encourage masks %26amp; exotic clothing. and play the music that you like. Decorate with three colors that you like; balloons, crepe paper, ribbons, etc. Keep the food to platters of veggies %26amp; meats %26amp; specialties such as snack rolls %26amp; tiny sandwiches, rather than a sit down dinner. Have music vids playing on big screens, have three of your friends play reporter and periodically break into the music vids with 'live interviews' with your friends, can be fun though your reporter friends are cautioned to steer clear of anything embarassing.

Above all, have fun and don't stress out!

Peace

Lots of fun ideas here.
Reply:You simply cannot have an 80s theme party without the 80s music, blasphemy! lol

Um..

Luau's are fun. (hawaii type stuff, grass skirts flower leis)

50's style sock-hops (poodle skirts- ie like Grease- the movie)

Maybe something like a Las Vegas theme? Complete with a couple of casino games?

You dont want it to be cheesy though, so choose what you like, and what you think your friends would enjoy. Get creative, I use google search engines for everything. Ive set up my sisters parties for as long as I can remember (me 23 her 13) I made her a scooby cake one year (took 3 hours to decorate) and then more recently I made this cake http://jas.familyfun.go.com/recipefinder... cuz shes into bowling now. Im just trying to say, GOOGLE IT! I love google, you can find anything.
