My birthday is in the 30th.I am turning 17 this december.I want to throw a party but having problems deciding what type of theme should it be.I don't have much ideas about parties.Previously i always invited a couple of fellows and my parents were also there on my birthdays. But this time I want to invite many friends and neighbours and give a rocking party. Can you give me some unique ideas for the party including the food, decorations, invitation cards, music or anything??What should be my next step in taking the preparations after making the guest list? And as my birthday is just before the new year,do I make some different plans,to surprise my guests? Please help...I want to have a blast this birthday and if possible can you give me the web address of sites which can come in use.HELP!!!
Hey party-goers can you help me with my preparations for my coming 17th birthday party??
My idea for you is to have a nightclub themed party. You can name your nightclub "birthday" or "17". Send out invitation as if they were to visit the exclusive V.I.P room of this new club, but make sure people know it's for your birthday party. Decorate by exchanging your normal lights for blacklights, colored light bulbs, and soft lighting. Have each room or section of your house as a different section of the club. The techno room, the video games room, the hip-hop room, the hang-out room.
Since I'm assuming you aren't going to drink, make some mocktails. A good site for recipes is http://www.healthunit.on.ca/mocktails/re... Pick about 5-10 of your favorites and make a menu to sit at your "bar". Have someone mixing drinks (an older sibling, a friend). Serve the drinks in cocktail glasses, tumblers and martini glasses.
The best place to get invitations are these sites http://www.birthdayinvitation.org/ http://www.classiccommunication.com/

OR you can do your own invitation online at evite.com and e-mail it to everyone. That's what I would recommend.
I think you sould serve pizza or something easy and fast. You can even go out a buy a bunch of frozen foods at your local warehouse store and cook them all up before the party. Don't pay for delivery, go out and buy frozen pizzas, or for even more fun, get all cheese frozen pizzas and have people garnish their own slices. Have peperoni, diced chicken, sausage, peppers, tomatoes, bacon ,and other things that you like on pizza. Make sure you have a cake, and have it iced bright white so it stands out under the lights.
The last thing you need is yourself. Don't let the party planning stress you out too much and just have a good time. It's all about you so make it really personalized. And have fun! You deserve it.

Reply:After the guest list you pick out the food. Since 17 is too young for alcohol, you might want to stock up on soda. People like soda. And I have found that pizza makes a good meal at large parties, because you can order lots of it, and call in more if you run out. Also, loud music is a must for any large party. Lots of loud music. Not like death-metal loud, but not Corelli either. You also might want to have something to do, like video games or something, because without alcohol you will not get that self-amusement, as seen on tv. If it's a birthday, don't forget cake. No matter hold old people get, they always want cake, so make sure there's enough for everybody. Decorations should not be too overt or flashy, at the risk of looking like a school dance from the 80's. Everything else depends on the people who are coming. Since you wanted a "rocking party", you probably want interesting looking invitations that are not too sophisticated or plain. Cards with black backgrounds and colored writing always look fun. Hope you have a great birthday, good luck!
Reply:The first thing you need to do is decide where you want to have the party. As for a theme, for my little sister's 18 b-day party, we went to party city (they have a website), and just looked around for a theme she liked. She decided on a luau, but they also had things for masquerade, togo, and other kinds of parties. After you have a theme in mind make everything (food, music, invitations, etc.) blend in with it. Good luck.
Reply:just stock up on beer! the rest just falls into place!
